no argument there, and that is exactly right. I was only comparing the position of the axle and not the ride. From that, I realize now why despite tacoma being a #1 selling truck, that there are fewer of them used for off-road, and why it is not standard issue for use in military like jeep and hummvee. Not that there is anything wrong with any of the trucks, just different design and intended for different purposes and owners modify whatever vehicle they own to work for other purposes that it was not originally intended for.

which brings me to a related subject. based on your tacoma picture, I can see now why there is a rake (besides to level when towing). considering the rear axle is further from the end than the front axle to the front, it makes sense for the rear to be a little higher. Imagine if you have a level truck and coming down a very steep incline and your front barely makes the transition to horizontal ground, only to get your rear end snagged.

btw, thanks to those who take time to inform and educate me and I'm sure many readers on this thread.

:stirthepot::rasta: Lifts are overrated. I am removing my lift, 35's and going back to stock. I might even lower it to get better center of gravity. Then I can do the real hard trails.
