Moving leaf spring plate to top

    Front lift, ride rite air bags, side steps, rear camera switch.
    What is the purpose of moving the U-Bolt leaf spring plate to the top and using U-bolts instead of the square bolts Tacomas come with? Is there an advantage or is it just preference? Also, what is the advantage of reversing the shackles? Is it to gain lift only? Thank you to all those who respond in advance.

    Ubolt flip kit is mainly to give you extra clearance for offroading

    Shackle flip kit will give you more flex

    There's really no need for the shackle flip kit I recomend doing new leaf pack like old man emu 2.5 inch lift or allpro standard 3 inch lift.

    I just got the skyjacker 2.5". But I heard when they settle, it goes to 2". I'm debating whether to add a 1" block or not.

    I probably could, but heard that by adding a add-a-leaf, the suspension gets stiff, which is defeating the purpose of going skyjacker instead of Dakars.

    If you use just the stock main spring (54") & cut 12" off each end of the next donor spring (30") ,on the third spring cut 3.75" off each end (23") the 4th & final spring cut 2" off each end (19") put it all together you'll have a set that won't be for shit for hauling anything but it'll flex like a slinky....

    Well I can't say 100% Tyler from pelfreybilt was saying he had lost some but I maybe i mis heard, I deal with conventional shackles like first gens not the flippy noodle 2nd gens other than the springs:p

    Three plus overload leaf. For what I read online from manufacturer and the very few people that has them, it rides same or smoother than stock, which was my main goal, but I also wanted the 2-3" lift.
