So I don't consider myself a complete newb, but I definitely don't have enough knowledge to tell if this setup will work without doing my own trial & error. With so much info stickied on lift and suspension, I get lost in it and I confuse myself sometimes...

So will this setup work? Will I run into any issues? i.e. rubbing (something a minor trim job can fix?), wheel spacers required?, do I get the LR UCA's or not?, etc

    16" TRD Trail Team rims:

And the 3" lift kit with Bilistein 5100 Height Adj. Coilovers, with the CS047R Dakar leaf pack (not pictured) from Toytec

I have a 2013 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 if that changes anything.

You'll be good, with 285's you will have to do some minor trimming on your fenders flares. You won't need spacers either. As for ucas you may or may not need after market ones. Some guys can get stock specs and others can't.

    Roja that!

What setting would I have to set the billies at to achieve the max height, but maintain the levelled/stock rake?

If you don't add any rear lift the front setting will need to be 1.75 if you add an aal you'll have to bump it up to 2.5

Do adding the Dakars qualify as adding lift? Or no? I know some who would consider those as lift.

Haha yeah those are lift. Around 3 inches of it actually, you'll want to set the front at 2.5 then. Also look at getting the extended rear 5100 shocks and exteneded rear brake lines as well.

    Thanks gents!

If ordering from toytec, they should automatically ship with extended 5100's shouldn't they? After all this is the business they're in, or would you have to request them?

I got same wheels with 285s and spacers. The spacers give it a better stance dur to bo backspacing. You will probably do some light trimming

    Loading......
I have a 13' with those TRD wheels no spacer and 285's in General Grabber AT2's. The only thing I have done is cab mount chop (mostly for off-road) and unbolted the little flaps in the front of the wheel well.

I run King's @ default setting so like 2.5"? and 1.5" AAL in the rear only rub when I bottom out off road because of driving a little too fast on whoops. Haven't rubbed on the street and I frequently crank my wheel all the way to back into spots. Hope this helps.

Yeah, but you're not using factory upper control arms, right? Aren't you using the Total Chaos UCAs?

To the original poster - you'll probably need spidertrax (or equivalent) wheel spacers to avoid those tires rubbing against the factory upper control arms when mounted on those rims. EDIT - or you could swap out the UCAS for the Total Chaos ones. (The light-racing UCAS that a lot of us use have a little wider shoulder - if you're trying to prevent UCA rubbing - the basic Total Chaos UCAs are probably your best bet)

hate to wake an old thread but thought others could benefit from this...

I finally got around to installing everything I mentioned above after being deployed, my lil boy showing up 2 months earlier than expected, living out of a suitcase in another city for some time, etc...

So once installed the lift and the rubber/rims it was rubbing LIKE A SAVAGE, I couldn't turn the wheel much more than 90*... thankfully my stealership wasn't too far away. I had them max out the caster as much as they could without knocking the camber out to lunch. I think we got caster up to 1.6 and camber bang on spec. Anymore caster and camber was sacrificed.

After that the only rubbing was that goofy little mud flap at the front of the wheel well with the wheel at full lock, so to the trash they went. Now the only time they rub is if I hit a bump at lock harder than I or anyone ever should, if I hit that same bump straight on I have no problems!

I will report I did notice a difference in handling after this lift (nothing major or worth panicking over). From everything I've read, I guess I need to save my money and get some LR UCA's so I can get my caster out to 2.5 or more and then handling will be restored.

Hope this helps any newbies like myself.
