If I do bilstein 5100's all around, is there anything else I need? I thought I read somewhere that I need new bushings or something like that, but can't seem to find anything.
If someone could help me out, I'm kind of new to this whole suspension thing. Can someone tell me what else I need and tell me where to get it? I'm just going to stick with the factory springs for now FYI.

    Thanks a ton!

A spring compressor to put the stock coils on the new shock. You can rent them at AutoZone. That should be all you need. If your bushings aren't worn out, you can re-use them.

What setting are you putting the bilsteins at? Anything over 2.5" it's recommended to get upper control arms to get your alignment back in spec. Although, some didn't get any and had no problems while others did have problems. If your keeping factory coils then I would put them at the 1.75" setting. For the rear, I don't believe these shocks ad lift so you may want to get a AAL or something. Where are you getting the shocks from?

This. Or you can do what I did and take the shocks and coils to a goodyear or something and have them assemble them off the books. I paid the tech $20 to do mine. I had the ratchet style compressor and the new coils were to too beefy for them to work.

Oh cool. My bushings are still good that I know. I'm getting the frame replaced under the recall, so I was hoping that instead of putting my factory shocks back in, they would put the bilsteins on since they have to take them off anyway.

Just don't let them screw you. They're called the stealership for a reason. I would be as close by as possible to watch. Make sure they're on the correct setting. They might even go as far as to tell you that Bilstein 5100's aren't compatible or something stupid like that. I hate dealerships lol

Are the TRD Sport coils different from the TRD Off-Road coils? I thought the suspension was the same on both just the Sport came with LSD and color matched parts and scooped hood whereas the Off-Road just had e-lockers and chrome grill and bumper

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. yeah u dont wanna preload the OR coils over the 1.75 setting, but u could do this and get a full 2.5" and the back with the aal for a good deal since it comes with new coils for $620 with no diff drop, and u shouldnt need uca's for that https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/05-and-up-tacoma/bilstein-adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks/ u might can find that kit a bit cheaper somewhere else also but something to consider if ur gonna buy sport coils and preload them to 2.5, just to weigh ur options

OR coils are progressive and sports are linear like the base coils

the highest I would put the 5100's is either 0 or .85. Not looking to lift.

If you're not looking to lift then I'd go with the .85 to level it out and since your not gonna be offroading at all then go with the sport coils if you can find some
