    Im in need of some new struts for my 2000 tacoma and was wondering if FCS or Monroe was any good:confused:. I know these are not the best but i'm only 17 so i'm on a pretty tight budget.

    Are your coils bad??

    If your coils are still good - you can buy just the shock and not need to buy the entire assembly.

    If your coils are bad.....
    I don't know if 2nd gen coils are interchangeable on the 1st gens (and/or the results) but you could find some used coils on this forum easily.

    I don't think the coils are bad, but they do have 200k miles on them and I just thought I should replace the whole assembly.

    I'm in the same boat looking for new struts and don't have a lot to spend. Most reviews are positive. I saw some good reviews for 4runners and only 1 review fow a tacoma, although it was a good review. Did you get your struts?
