i went and looked at scooterwct's tacoma tonight and really like his setup. I still have a few questions though:

    1. he is running the bilstein coilovers. are they worth the extra money?
    2. how are they different from the eibach coil/5100 lift from toytec?
    3. what advantage do the coilovers have?
    4. i want the truck to sit level. should i do the block kit or the aal? which is better for rideability?

    thanks guys!

I have the eibach coils with bilstien 5100's. Also did an AAL in the rear. LOVE the ride, and handles great offroad. Just my 2 cents

The coilover is fully adjustable when on the truck, the 5100 and eibach utilizes the clip adjustment. You need to remove the shock in order to change the height setting.

Tbh looks. I will be offroad a very little bit but i am looking for driveability and function. I will be driving 50-100 miles per day and need a nice ride. I know either will provide that but again are there any advantages to the coilovers? Worth the extra money? Ride better?

I dont see myself adjusting them once they are one.

If you are looking to keep your truck leveled without doing anything to the rear I would recommend the Toytech adjustable coilover kit from Toytech. It works with the Bilstein 5100s. This way you will be able to exactly adjust the front to match the rear.

I first put on the the 5100s w/ Eibach springs and you can only do two settings at 0 which gives you a 1.6" lift or at .85 which gives you a 2.4" lift. Either one will be hard to get your truck leveled. With the first set you will not be leveled w/ stock rear, you will be closed, but you will still see noticeable rake. At 2.4 you will have to do an AAL or a block and then you might not be leveled, but closed. I didn't want to mess with the rear at all, which is why I went with the adjustable coils. I was able to set them for a 2inch lift and I was leveled perfectly.

Take a look at my build thread. I describe both these set ups.

I'd go for the coilovers. Especially if your goal is to level the truck. Also if you ever decide to add something like a brush guard to the front, you can adjust them to compensate for the weight.
