Icon setting ?

I have 2011 reg cab 4x4. My icon stage 1 kit just showed up and I will be installing tomorrow. I am using this kit to level the truck. Does anybody know how much threads showing = how much lift ? I know every truck is different, just looking to get it close before I install. thanks

 

Its actually very easy to adjust on the truck. Make sure to undo the locking nut and add a little wd40. Jack up the truck. Electrical tape all over your spanner wrench and its an easy adjustment.

 

Its easiest to adjust the coils while it is already installed on the truck. after install just jack up the truck and crank down the coils(since they are new you shouldn't have any problems). That way you can adjust exactly how much lift you want in the front in relation to how much rake you want.

Chances are if youre just going to level the front they might already be set to the height youre looking for.

 

Be aware the drivers side is heavier and will require more preload.

 

i thought i had a pic somewhere but can't find it. when i got my truck aligned after Icon install they cranked the driver's c/o to level the truck. it's level but the ride suffers. i think i would prefer slight rake/taco lean and smother suspension up front rather than a level truck but i've lived with it for a year. food for thought.

 

I guess I will throw them on first and see where she sits. I may have to lower the front a little bit. They are supposed to be preset around 2" of lift, I think I will only need around 1.5". I do have serious rake through, I think it's a reg cab thing. thanks for all the advice.

Remeber to electrical tape the sh!t out of your spanner wrenches guys.

I am assuming it gives it grip and doesn't leave scratches?

if you get the icon spanner wrench you don't need tape because there is also a knob(not sure what the technical term is) welded to the bottom of the handle that you can use to crank the coils down

 

The tape is to prevent scratches.

 

What weight coils come from the factory?
Just order some...

I had them upgraded to 700lb

Are those 650lb springs?
How much lift are you getting up front with them set like that?
I had to crank mine down quite a bit more and my truck still isn't level....

 

These are the 700 pound 14 inch coils not the 650 pound 13 inch coils that come on the Icons. I have 3.25 inches of lift at the moment but im adding a winch tomorrow and I just stalled the new coils. They will settle alittle more and get pulled down by the winch for a even 3 inches of lift.
