So I have Icons currently but they ride pretty rough on road highway, interstate, slow city roads in my opinion. They ride pretty good on dirt but thats hauling ass down a dirt road. They are set at 3 inches.I live in Georgia and there arnt any deserts or whoops nearby lol to blast through.
I'm leaning towards OME 887's and either the new OME 9021 nitrocharger shocks or bilstein 5100's. The 887 are the same spring rate as 885's but 5mm longer so no spacers needed. What do you guys think?

Rides rough where? Streets, offroad? I love my Icons, maybe you should try setting them down near 2" and adjusting your tire psi.

No way man! Keep your icons! They're great. I love mine. I agree with TacoBrah Maybe you have yours set a little too high. Lower them an inch and lower Psi when you're wheeling and it should feel great whether you're rock crawling or going high speed.

    Interesting...

I was considering going to icons. I wish I would have gone the 887's instead of the top plates. I really like the ride right now though.

To me they ride rough on the road and off. I have Dakars in the rear. I have a pretty good rake as it sits now. So I'm afraid it's going to look real goofy if I go any lower up front. I have had them for about 6 months and it bugs the crap out of me feeling every imperfection in the road.

Maybe it's more your tires? What load range?

True. E. Cooper ST Max 285/75/16. I have played with the psi. I have not ran them at 32 psi though bc it just seems too low to me?

I'm running mine at 32. They ride great and are wearing very well.
They are still going to be stiff.

I've got Icons set to 2", and when I first installed them I was running P metric street tires at 32 psi. They definitely ride stiffer than the factory coil overs, but not unbearably harsh. Then I got E rated BFGs and ran them at 30 psi for a while, it rode about the same as my P metrics. I have since started running them at 35 psi for gas mileage purposes. And the ride doesn't bother me too much. The wife hates it tho. I think ur problem is that u have them cranked to 3". Dial em down a bit and get a lift spindle...? Unless ur 4x4

Try 32 psi it should make a difference, other than that if you want super plush on road you may wanna go back to stock.

I had good luck running the nitrogen psi in the shocks down 25 psi from the 250 they're supposed to be. After breaking in the springs I raised the pressure back up.

You can always revalve them for slow speed but you can't crank them all the way up (0 down travel). I personally don't like E rated tires on this light of a truck. On another note I've been in a truck with OME and it rode stiff as hell due to tires.

It may be my E rated tires then. I guess I may be in for a new tire search now lol. I do agree the E rated tires are a bit overkill. Mine weigh 60 lbs each.

I pulled Kings to run Icons instead. Definitely the superior shock I have tried so far. I would look at other solutions before pulling them for other shocks. I run my tires at 36 and don't have any problems.

Well the culprit was tire psi. I had them at 50 psi lol now they are at 32psi and its night and day difference. Thanks for all the info guys. I feel kind of dumb now lol sometimes it's the simplest things....

Light, Bumpers, and lots of switches.

I'm about to drop my tires down to 25 psi for a smoother ride. I'm not running icons though.
