I have a 2014 tacoma with Bilsteins 5100s and Eibach springs. They are set to a 3" lift, And I run 33s with no problem. However I recently installed an Allpro apex bumper and noticed that my front end has been lowered due to the added weight. And now I get a slight rub on the back of my tires. Do I have to readjust my shocks to lift the front end back up? or is this not recommended? What are my options once I start adding more armor?

thanks, I am going to look into stiffer springs. So what do most people run when they have all that extra weight from all the armor upgrades?

I have 886x springs on 5100s (with the collar all the way at the bottom). It's a little stiff, but I don't mind.
Might be stiffer on an AC. You could try 885s

The eibach springs you already have are stiffer than the 885 springs.

Really, if you're rubbing due to just the weight of the bumper - you were too close for comfort before and ought to look in to increasing tire clearance by

    1. remove mudflaps if not already
    2. use alignment specs to gain max clearance (on stock UCAs, set for maximum caster and zero camber)
    3. cab mount chop and pinch weld trim/hammer

That'll give you the room you need to run those 33s, and the results won't be noticeable to anyone who doesn't know tacomas and looks inside your wheelwells.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
If you got the ToyTec Eibachs then they are made for ToyTec at 620# (iirc). If not, then you are correct, eibach makes a numerous spring rates for various applications. Not sure of the 885, but OME recommends 886 for anything over 100lbs added to the front of the truck. You could run 887 since they are the same rate as 885 just longer providing more lift, but I would avoid spacers if possible. Headstrong website gives a pretty good lay down on the OME specs.

I would avoid spacers if at all possible. I am even starting to think the taco lean spacer is crap. It may just be because the sway bar compensates and, if removed, would lean without it.

You should probably consider a set of 886x and be done with it. I started down the path of chasing spring rates and the 886x have done me right. If you find a set of 886 then be wary, same rate just the early model that was prone to sag.

Can the 886 springs be used with the BAJA lift shocks since their bigger than the 5100's. I have an ARB bumper and would love a stiffer spring.

I am now looking at buying a rear bumper and sliders. Will I have to buy a new rear suspension set up before I buy the bumper? or will the 5100s and the add a leaf from toytec work?

I ran 5100's set on the second setting and the toytec springs until I went to a 33 inch tire. Almost any kind of serious up and down movement I would rub or cut the tires on the front bumper. I will cut out all of the drama and get to the point. The 886's and the 5100's at the lowest setting hold the front end much better. Bottom line the toytec springs maybe rated at 620, but they were as tall as the 886's and not near as stout. I believe if you have a front bumper and winch you should just go with the 886's.

I still run a 1/2 top plate on the driver side to lever the truck. Now from center hud to the bottom of the flare I am about 23 1/8. Factory is about 21 inches.

As for the rear, I think you will be fine.

Thanks for the help bro, I guess I need to start looking for a set of 886 now.
