Hello everyone. Let me start by saying I'm new to the truck game and have been doing lots of research on lifts. I have a 13 V6 double cab 2WD prerunner. I never go off road and 90% of my driving is highway. I load 2 sport bikes in the bed of my truck about 6-7 times a year for track days. I feel that the stock ride is waaayy to soft and would love a much stiffer ride. I just ordered my wheels and want a 3 inch lift to run a 285 70 17 BFG tire. I've been doing research on the procomp 3 inch lift and find that most people do not like it because of how stiff it is. Others are saying that the lift causes damage or dose not last long, but when I look at thir profile they are off-roading, prerun and rock crawling on a regular. My question is if anyone has or knows someone who has experience with procomp on a V6 truck like mine that's does not off road and could give me some input.

I had a buddy with the 3" pro comp, it was cheap and did it's job. It was stiff for sure, even more so then when I had my spacer lift. But it wasn't terrible. If your gonna be hauling bikes make sure you at least get the add a leaf in the back not the blocks.

Rear is fine just mainly the front where it's to stiff. I recommend getting after market uppers so you can get better alignment. look into light racing perfect if your on a budget wheeleroffroad.com

i'll start by stating that i've never owned a procomp kit so i can't speak from experience with this specific lift. i would assume the procomp is complained about more because it is a cheap (low quality) lift, the stiffness is just a symptom of this.
if your goal is to just lift the truck 3" the procomp might work fine but i didn't chance anything with my lift and got uca's right off the bat. most will tell you anything over the 2.5" area will likely require this or you'll never get your alignment back to spec.
hopefully someone else with the procomp can chime in as well.

    Sup Matt,

I've got a '13 DCSB V6 (TRD Off Road) running a little bit of a bigger tire than you are now (18R too). It does it's job, but I can tell you from having it on for about a year now it's pretty stiff. More so in the front than the rear. When I have weight in the bed though it does ride pretty nice.

I'm upgrading to an Icon 3" now that my 6 month old son is riding in it (need the softer ride). Let me know if you want to take my pro comp off my hands.

Get spindles instead of the Pro Comp. Better ride.

If anything I recommend getting the old man emu with there leaf pack and can haul a good amount of weight. Little bit more pricey but long run you'll be happy

I'm thinking about running a custom set up... with 5100s and springs with a custom spring rate so I can get the stiffer ride I want.

Spindles will able you to lift you vehicle while still maintain a nice ride plus keeping your alignment specs like stock and keep you tie rod angles like stock. Plus with spindles if you decide later you want to go higher you can just adjust your 5100's in front or change out the factory coils for ome 883,884 or 885's.
