looking to buy UCA to correct caster. just have the ome 885s and bilstein 5100s. are the light racing UCAs a good choice or should I just go with the camburg ball joint style? I have heard bad and good on the light racing but recently see good stuff on them and made better? need some unput

Just a bunch of old crap
Total Chaos. I own the LR UCAs and I've seen too many people's welds break or the bushings turn to junk. I have issues with the ball joints wearing out yearly and I have to replace them. I'm trading up to TC when these current ball joints are trashed.

    Getting there...
If you're considering stepping up to the Camburg ball joints, I would say just pony up the cash for uniballs. It seems like LR get decent reviews with some negatives, but you rarely see any negatives about uniballs other than the normal maintenance associated with them.

do the camburgs still give the extra clearance between the tire and the upper control arm? and i would assume the camburgs will give plenty of positive caster to get back in spec?

After a year with the LRs I have no problem at all with them and I have been fairly hard on my truck.

I've had mine since 2009 and have had zero problems, I drive moderately off-road and enjoy the limited maintenance in comparison to an open Uni-Ball design.

My Light Racing UCA's broke at the collar. They were covered under warranty, thankfully. No trouble yet since.

Yeah , I think the new SpecRide bushings have all but eliminated that failure

Most of the breaks on the LRs came from the old style. They redid the LRs so the new ones are a lot stronger and have a lot better bushings "Spec Ride Bushing."

    glad to hear that.

The guy at SPC was really easy to deal with through the warranty process. Apparently a lot of arms failed at that weld.

The old bushing set up , especially if tighten without the truck on the ground , would cause rotational stresses to be put through the UCA when the suspension cycled , the new SpecRide bushings addressed this issue

I've had the LR UCA's for a year and a bit now. They're the newest version (updated bushings, etc.). They've been trouble free and have seen lots of highway driving, city driving, and "moderate" trail use. I'd recommend them.

For a "trail truck" or something that's going to get beat through desert woooops,.. I'd probably go Total Chaos.
