Thinking about lifting my 2015 Tacoma 4.0L 4x4 with Icon stage 3 and slapping on all terrain tires (285/70 R17) without sacrificing too much MPG. My question to all you Taco Heads out there is what MPG are you guys and gals producing with the same or similar setup?

i saw a 1-2 with billies at 1.75 and running 265/75/16. so i would assume a 2 inch bigger tire plus the added drag of the extra lift will hurt your mpg. I would expect 3-4 to be reasonable loss with the lift and tires. Tire weight is what hurts it more then the actual lift i think.

Then you can throw a TRD Pro grill and shift knob on it and it should equal out. LOL

At 75-80 where most people drive a 3 inch lift will definitely affect mpg, even with stock tires. 55 maybe little to no.

Probably 1-3 mpg depending on your tire weight? What load range are you thinking?

I get about 13-14 driving careful but I got a lot of armor.

Lift did nothing to my mpg, but tires did. I drove it for several weeks after my lift with the factory tires. I have a 85 mile round trip commute everyday day. Almost all highway at 65 to 75 mph.

A lift increases aerodynamic drag, 2 weeks of data might not show it.

    Each take showed it buddy.

Yes...a lift screws with our aerodynamics, but it wasn't enough to show. These trucks are not that aerodynamic to begin with.

    Really???

After spending $2K on wheels and tires, and another $3K on an Icon lift...

Why the fack should you even care?

I think I now run GPM, and not MPG.

Wait 'til you put on the new mirrors! Should gain at least 2-3 mpg.

MagnaFlow off-road exhaust, OME 885 lift w/ rear full Dakar leaf pack, anytime foglight mod and Contura V switch, aFe Pro-Dry S filter, color-matched grill, Yakima rack, ARE Z-Series shell, and probably more. Also have a 1996 regular cab DLX Tacoma and a 2014 DCLB Tacoma.
I have a 6-spd manual with a OME lift, 285/75R16 Nitto TG, Konig Countersteer rims, a Yakima rack, and a shell (plus a Magnaflow exhaust, which definitely hurts my mpg because I use it to get people's attention when they are driving like idiots, and an aFe air filter, which makes zero difference) and my last tank (mostly freeway, the speed limit here is 80 mph) got all of 12.3 mpg.

Generally I've been averaging 13, or 14 on a good day, since I got the lift (which seemed to do nothing to my mileage) and stuck the fatty tires on (which did the most damage, i think). I don't dare try to put any armor on or I will know the gas station attendant much better than I'd like to. I think the automatics get a bit better mileage. I do miss the days I saw 20 mpg averages, but at least the truck looks/sounds/offroads all sexy-like...
