icon extended travel coilover help (thread measurements)

Okay so I took my truck in to get this stuff installed and they feel really stiff. What are your guys measurements on thread

Driver: 2 1/4"
Pass: 1 7/8"

 

... and what was the lift measurement after?

I'm asking because I have a set of Icon 2.5 ET Coil overs and rear Icon 2.0 resi's going on soon. I have LR UCA's on the truck already.

I need clearance for my MT Baja ATZ P3's 33"

I thought amount of threads showing on those should be no more than 2". After that, it will get super stiff...

 

Yeah it feels super stiff. Sadly I didn't take any before measurements but it look like its at about 24.5" from center hub to fender, but I'm kinda having difficulty measuring because the tire sticks out a bit

 

maybe try lowering it 1/2" on each side

Icon's use digressive valving so it will ride a little stiff at lower speeds.

 

Mine are 1.5" passenger and 1.75 drivers threads showing. My fender to hub measurement is 23". I did have it a little higher at first and just 2 turns down (1/8th inch per turn) made a huge difference in the ride.

Oh and what size tire are you running?

 

Maybe I'm measuring wrong (mine look like yours), but that looks like more than 1.5-1.75.

 

as far as my measurement, i havent checked. i left it at the Icon factory setting out of the box. supposed to be a 2.5" lift up front. it does ride a little stiffer than stock but im ok with that. i have a question though...hows your steering feel with the Icon UCA's? is it also a little stiff turning the steering wheel?

 

It feels a lot better than stock when turning that's for sure. I just need to trim and adjust my coilovers for a smoother ride

 

currently 265/65r17 (stock) I just received my trail grapplers 285/65/r18 but am waiting for the barge to deliver my wheels. my steering is also much better than stock. Not so loose.

I've been over on the Icon site attempting to find the install instructions for the shocks on my Stage 4, but no. That part number apparently isn't on their site. I'm over 2" on both sides and I had mine installed at Toyota of Dallas...(trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com...largest TRD shop in the country) and I've always figured they knew exactly what they were doing. Where's that Icon rep? Get him over here.

 

I heard 2.5" also with the factory settings but with my DCSB it measured out at 2" after working the coilovers in a bit.

 

The front of the truck is 20" hub to fender stock. 23" inches would be 3 inches of lift. The 24.5 you stated it 4.5 inches of lift. You CVs can bearly take a 3 inch lift. Anymore then 3 inches and you will be replacing CVs every couple months. Please lower your truck back down and the ride will inprove and so will the longevity of your truck
