hey guys, just throwing this out there, i am currently running bilsteins at 1.75" on stock coils in the front with 1" blocks in the back and was thinking about switching out the blocks for a 1.5" or 2.0" aal to get a little more lift in the back and bring back some rake. i have had no issues at all with the blocks. i have heard negetive reviews about both but i'm curious to hear if people think it's worth it or not. i am not interested in spending any extra money on full leaf springs at this point and i don't load my truck down with any weight for the most part.

    thanks.

Not worth it for a single AAL. They have a worse ride.

Go with a 3 leaf aal or a full pack.

I have had all options, 1" block, single AAL, 3 AAL, Dakars.

Dakars are the best followed by 3 leaf AAL, then factory tsb leafs+block and last is the single AAL.

thanks for the feedback guys, it's always interesting seeing the difference in opinions and the different experiences.

not sure if i really need them, seems kind of overkill since i really don't 4x4 that often if at all and i don't put a lot of weight in the back of my truck, at most my hypermotard for short distances. more or less just looking for a tiny bit more lift for looks.

I have the Icon 3 leaf progressive AAL. HUGE improvement in ride and articulation over stock and block.

    X2.
I run a 1.5" block and 885x in the front. For me it works because I don't need extra support in the back for a mountain bike and a kayak...

The tapered blocks also help to prevent vibes which a lot of folks have with AAL and full LPs.

Over time the AAL will settle and you'll lose what it gave you.

    He probably meant prematurely!:D

+1 After about 15 months my 1.5" single add-a-leaf sagged down to ~.75" which I thought was pretty bad but I expected it. Also, it has started to create a MAD axle wrap as it sagged, and yes everything is tight back there. I have experience with a multi-leaf AAL as well, and they don't impress me much more based on the price difference.

It sounds like you have some personal experience you could share? OP is asking about AAL vs. blocks. I've had mine om almost two years with no settling.

I had a AAL installed with my OME kit at 5k miles. At 8k miles it got so bad I swapped in the Dakar leaf pack.

    new leaf pack >>>>>> AAL
