Hey guys I recently put a Dakar leaf pack in the rear of my truck and was attempting to raise up the front level.

I jacked up the front end of my truck as recommended and I have encountered 2 problems:

On the drivers side I was able to turn the adjustment collar down almost a full inch, as in I now have an extra inch of threads showing than before I started. I took measurements from wheel to fender before and after starting this and I only gained 1/2 Inch of lift, it went from an 8" gap to a 8.5" gap. From all the research I've done its supposed to be a 1:2 ratio from (threads: actual lift) and I am getting a 2:1 ratio, which is blowing my mind simply from a logical perspective.

On the passenger side I can't even get the top ring/ collar to unlock.. I even sprayed hella PB blaster on it a day in advance at the top and bottom of the coilover. I'm a fairly strong guy and I actually bent the punch I was using just trying to crank open the unlock collar (yes I was turning counter-clockwise also)

    Drivers side pic:
    IMG_6126_7d652cce64c3ab8b15b1b80cc8459251280ebb6d.jpg

    Passenger Side:
    IMG_8594_59aa847959591eb1f93634cde454dcbf841d5038.jpg

Despite the thread difference wheel to fender is only Half an Inch more on the drivers side. Hub to fender on drivers side is approx. 23" and it's still no where near level with the OME leaf pack lift on the back. I called Fox and they did try but where basically no help...

Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Experiences this before?

PS- The fudged holes in the collars are not from me but the previous owner

I'm NO expert, but looking at the scuffs on the colors, it might be a known problem the previous owner neglected to tell you before you purchased them? Again, only my .02.

Are you maxed out on how high the truck's suspension will actually go? When you lift the wheel off the ground are you getting any droop?

I know they make that coil over in 2 lengths, and if you had the shorter version you might not be able to go as high as you want.

    Just throwing ideas out there.

What lengths do they make it in? I thought the Fox 2.5s all came in 0-3"

and yea when I jack up the front the wheel still stays on the ground for a while.. definitely doesn't come up right away so I know theres still a lot of down travel there

Whoa. Everyone is having issues with their coilovers!

Let's start with the most basic thing first, how tall are your coilover springs?

You may have too much crap in the threads which allowing them not to move now. The only solution to that issue really, as much as it sucks, is to pull off the spring so you can free tension from the adjusters. at which point, clean and lube the threads.

Maybe I have the 2" one then I guess.. I did find the original owner of this truck's profile on here before though and it was advertised as "mid travel".

Either way I guess my only option really is to do a full rebuild to ext. length with new coils

You could probably call Fox and see if they can confirm which version you have.

He's right ^^ They usually have a serial number stamped on the shock body end cap at the bottom of it.

Sounds like your springs are too soft, too short or worn out, should be easy to get 2" with a fox shock....

I just installed radflo coilovers as well. (New)
I was out there pushing and pulling with all my might trying to get the top part to budge.
I put the spanner wrench in and would smack it with a rubber hammer a few times.
After about an hour I finally got out loose. I too sprayed the thread down with lube. It finally pooped and felt like sand in the threads. Even though right out of the box.

Most of these coil overs have an adjuster that you have to loosen first before you adjust the height on them.

SERIOUSLY! my driver side was easy to get the lock ring loose, by my passenger side was a bear. had to hit the lock ring and actual compression ring opposite ways with a screwdriver/ hammer. not to mention the fittings for my reservoirs are in the way to adjust the coilovers with a spanner wrench..

I might actually be getting 1.75-2" over stock.. I was just really counting on them going up to 3". I'm unsure how much lift I'm at right now mainly because I don't know how high the last owner had them cranked but I'd guesstimate around they were around 1-1.25" before I started on them
