Trimming Pictures

I have just installed a 3 inch lift on my 2009 trd and my installer said i have to trim to fit my 285/70/17 goodyear duratracs and he wouldnt do it for me and i was wondering if anyone has pictures of where they trimmed.

Towards the cab I had to trim slightly. Now that I have removed the swaybar and installed new UCAs I have trimmed more.

In the front the big square nub.

Here I cut some and zip tied it back to make sure it doesn't move.

Not a problem. All the trimming was done with a razor knife. I actually just trimmed some more yesterday.

 

is it pretty difficult to do and is it different for everyone where they have to trim

 

Should only take 10 minutes if you go slow as to not cut yourself. Pretty similar for all our trucks, however depending on tires (their sizes differ) some rub more than others. Turn your wheel as hard as you can to one side to see where to cut, then turn in the opposite direction and trim there.

 

I went to Les Schwab to install my Tuff Country suspension lift, 285/75 Toyo M/T, and Spidertrax wheel spacers. They provided excellent customer service by trimming for free on areas that rubbed. They did a good job at it with no rubbing issues.
