Icon coilovers

I just put these on and I have to say that even without an alignment (which it needs for sure) the improvement was staggering over my stock setup.

It's tight and flat in the corners but not harsh at all. I hit a few railroad tracks and they just soaked them up. Very happy with these.. now just need to save some $ for more mods!

Save your money for some Total Chaos UCAs first before the tires.. You'll be glad you did.

I couldn't wait!! I think I'm fine with the stock uppers for now since the C/O's are only at 2.5" and provide plenty of clearance for the 285s.









I know the rear is slightly lower and I think I may just drop the nose down to level it for the time being... eventually I will probably go with an AAL/rear shock but I'm very happy with it for now!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the front CO's are set to 2.5" just as they came out of the box.

No UCA is needed as I just got my alignment done and all is back in spec. The tire/wheel combo fit with VERY, very minor trimming of the front fender liners, nothing painted was cut (285/75-16, 16x8, 0 offset, 4.5" backspacing).

I decided to trust Icon and they were dead on... can't recommend them or their product highly enough.

 

I thought they are set at 2" out of the box?

All of the afters are within the specified ranges.

 

I was worried honestly, but the guys at Icon said as long as I didn't go any higher than where they were set the stock UCAs would still give enough adjustability to get the caster back in spec, they were right.

I don't know how much is left, probably not much, but I'm happy and it rides great. I will be watching tire wear just in case. The guy at the alignment shop told me if I see any unusual wear to bring it back and they can tweak it.

I just wanted to let people like me who just wanted to run a 285 and didn't "need" an UCA for off-road duties that a 285 isn't nearly as big of an issue as I thought it would be to fit.

 

I just got the same lift. My alignment numbers seem different though. I wanted to crank it down a half and inch, I was told that no need for alignment unless you go more than 1 inch up or down, does that sound right?

Whenever you change the suspension height you really should get an alignment.

Also, my alignment shop told me that there are about 9 different "specs" depending on the configuration of your truck. I'd be surprised if your access-cab prerunner has the same specs as my double-cab 4x4.

 

right i didn't take that into account. By just kind of driving around the ride is a little stiffer than stock but in a good way. It doesn't bounce back and forth like it used to over bumps. I may crank it down a 1/2" to get the rake back.
