    So what I'm lookin at now is for a 6" lift and 35's- $1700 for pro comp lift, $1000 for wheels and tires if I can sell my old set for $1300-1400, and whatever regearing might be. Planning on installing lift with my cousin and my chief mechanic haha. Any input? How hard is it to regear IFS? And any idea what that might cost??

    If you plan on re gearing I would go east coast gear supply. Re gearing is not something you just stumble on and do. It should coast you about 1700 to 2000k to re gear if you have shop. If you do yourself might be little cheaper.

    Local guy said he can't get 4.56 gears for my truck but he can get 4.88's. What would be better? Auto v6 on 35's. He said he could do it for $1600 with parts and labor with a 2 year warranty.

    Do you have to drive alot ?? ^

    The 4.56's are going to be stronger than the 4.88. Put your going to get more pop when you hit the accelerator with 4.88.

    Yeah. It's my daily driver and I'll be driving to and from cookville from Chattanooga each week so that's 2.5 hours. What would be better for more milage?

    well i am regeared to 4.56's with MT, I am getting around 230 to 250 a tank if that gives you some perspective.


    i know the mt runs little higher than the auto but at

    65 @ 2500 rpm.

    Alright, thanks man. So any idea what I might get as far as MPG's go if I went with 4.88's? Better or worse than 4.56? Right now what I've got planned for lift, regear, wheels, and tires is $4500 after I sell my wheels and tires.

    You will get little decrease of mpgs with 4.88's than 4.56's but not that much.

    Nah.. Custom (Redneck approved).. I took my factory leafs and did a Toytec AAL when I had my 3 inch, then when I got my Pro-comp it came with another AAL and at first I put it in there thinking it was stronger and 2 years later my rear end looked a little flat, so I added my Toytec AAL back to it Which literally looked like it fit like a glove! It is actually shorter then the procomp AAL by about 1-1 1/2 inches on each side.. Then of course the block.. I'm not proud of this but i leterally had no other option.. I got out spending $351 on a Solid Drive Shaft for my truck but it had a shutter at 53 - 55 so I had to get shims. So I bolted the shims to the leaf pack and i'm still running a block.. :eek: But it's stable and done right for the most part!

    i like them...talked my buddy into them on his dodge and he loves them...they are also pretty cheap comapred to more well known brands
