How much lift from your j66 pack?

I bought a set of used and quite rusty deavers for 125 bucks.. took them to the local spring shop and had them tuned up for $80. Happy with the price but I was a little disappointed yesterday to only get 1.25 inches lift.

How much lift was achieved when you installed your new deavers, and after some miles do you have that same amount of lift??

I would like to install 285's and i'm concerned that the rear may not be high enough.. I'd sure hate to have to pull them off

Options? Opinions?

I don't have the same rear lift but I cleared my 285's just fine with a 1.25" block in the rear.

I have heard from people that rear springs tend to lose their arch over time...

Is anybody using a block underneath their Deaver pack? Is this even a good idea?

i have the j66 and have 2" of lift, you can have deaver put more arch to get more lift. why don't you call deaver and tell them your problem.

I have spoken to Deaver.. They want $175 to re-tune the springs.. plus the cost of shipping both ways.. may end up as much as a new set. My local shop will add more arch for $40 a spring.. I just really dont want to pull them back off! I may have to I suppose...

I had to add a 2 inch block to end up with 4 inches of lift so, deavers = 2 inchs

Deaver J66 leaf springs give 1.5 inches of lift in the rear on brand new 05+ Tacoma. I ordered a set of springs from them a few weeks back and they told me I might get 1.75 inches out the J66 springs at the most. Bigger tires may give some the extra 1/2 inch of lift to make it 2 inches in the rear. So if yours are at 1.25" it is only a .25 inch less than when new. Probably not worth the money as the human eye will never notice .25 inch difference. Here is a link to their website:
