My Suspension Purchase Experience

Do you guys still have your sway bars on? Mine was doing some clunking when I had my coilovers cranked.

Taking the sway bar off fixed it.

 

yeah i do still have my swaybar on because I do alot of california highway driving. You never know when you might need to swerve out of the way of some crazy ass driver

 

tbh, I can't feel a whole lot of difference with it off. And I purposefully did some swerving to check.

 

i wouldnt b driving it to much with that clunking noise.sounds like u have to much angle on the cvs.jmo.not sure why taking off the sway bar would cause it to go away unless the co was hitting it.my foxs have a "special"?top plate mount that keeps it away from the sway bar.

 

I've been looking for quick disconnects for awhile. But the Bar is really close to the CV when unhooked, so I'm not sure how healthy that would be under heavy articulation.

 

that clunking is not a result from the sway bar. I removed mine when i installed mine and still got the clunk, I set my coils at the 3" 3.4" of thread like allpro said...that too much lift for those coils and puts way too much tension on them.

I backed off the thread and now have 2 3/4" driver and 2 1/4 on passenger and it rides great and no more clunking!

 

Where Can you purchase the Timberem Bumpstops?? And what the Purpose of the U bolt flip kit? and where can you purchase it??

 

On a side note, Im so confused about all of this confusion. Idk if I should set mine at the all pro 4.6" and 4.3" setting or yours... That seems like a huge difference. I have the 3" leaf packs as well and would like my truck to sit close to level.

Murph, did you pull the sway bar yet?

 

I have been dealing with that "clunk" grimilin for ever now. Through 3 suspension set-ups, it is still there, comes and goes, sometimes louder then other times. I have taken it to get looked at twice with the end result being "sir there is nothing wrong with your truck" and I have also been over it with a fine tooth comb.

I just cant figure it out, I'm skeptical on the CV's but they too seem to be fine..... The noise sucks, it sounds like I broke a cv every time i hear the pop, but theres nothing I can find to do but live with it.
