2.5" or 3" lift

Who makes the best 2.5" or 3" lift for an 08 tacoma?

 

depends what your looking for, what your gonna use the truck for and how much you wanna spend. there are way too many choices out there...

 

I would say i want to use the truck 80% road driving 20% offroad. looking to spend around 1000 to 1500

 

for that much just get a toytec ultimate lift. toyteclifts.com

 

For your amount off offroading I say get the OME lift from toytec and spend the rest on new tires.

what size tires will fit under a that lift setup

 

You can fit 33" tires. Thats what I have. Oh and since that lift is only $700, you can buy tc uca's. New they are like $6oo shipped. But you can get a good used pair for cheaper.

I am putting 285/65/18s under almost an exact same setup...

 

285 75 16 or 285 70 17 with minor trimming.

Get a 3" with the 33's. I have a 2.5 and 265s and I regret it everyday. Online the 2.5" with 265s look good but when I did mine it barely looked different from stock seeing it in person. People who see my truck everyday haven't even realized I lifted it the 2.5 inches. I have seen 285s and 3" in real life and you can definately tell how much better it looks and it will perform better offroad

 

is there a big difference between the ome and the ultimate lift from toytec with the prices in mind if u are low on cash. if you dont offroad that much maby like 10% of the time.

 

Theres a few recent threads on this. Basically if your like me, you dont offroad a whole bunch, and you know you want 3" of lift and dont need the adjustableness, go with the OME.

 

Do you have the 16" or 17"?

I am getting the 2.5" and was thinking about the 265/70/17's. I would like to get 285/70/17's but don't want rubbing problems.
