    Ok. I am in the process of replacing my rear shocks but can't get the lower bolt on the shock to come off!? :confused: I have dried WD-40..etc. and it still won't budge. Any suggestions?

    I am trying to get the nut off first with a 1/2 wrench and holding the bolt with a 17mm wrench but it still wont budge.

    Soak it with some PB blater, and let it sit overnight.

    PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench

    Spray it on the nut and the bolt and let it sit. I also tap on the nut and bolt with my wrench to help 'encourage' the solution to travel down the threads. Sometimes it helps to tighten it until it budges / breaks loose.

    sorry to jack the thread but i'm having the same problem with the upper bolt on the rear shock, every time i turn it the shaft turns with it....what do i do :confused:

    The center of the shock shaft is sized for a 6mm hex wrench. Insert the hex wrench into the shaft, and it will hold the shaft still.

    OR, it may have a top that accepts a wrench

    Just hold the top with the propper wrench, and turn the nut.

    live and learn, thank you so much, we were doin the whole suspension today and had a hell of a time tryin to get the coilovers out and by the time we got to the rear shocks and couldnt figure it out, well i was so frustrated i could punt an infant across the room haha and now you tell me this i feel so much better.

    thanks to you i can now sleep tonight haha :D

    Dont use Vice grips....I cant remember the size....I think its a 6mm also..

    Ok I messed up. Before I even read chriss last post I went ahead and just used some channel locks. Now I can't even fit a wrench in there because there isn't much to grip on the top anymore....
