what do people think about the truxx lift?

$299 for Billy's all around from DSMS.
Definitely go with an AAL and no blocks, because blocks give a harsh ride and can cause axle wrap. So the AAL would be about $80 from ToyTec.
And a top plate spacer like Cliff said would only be about $10-$20.

I'm not sure what you are asking?

If you were to buy the Billy's you'd either have to buy new coils for the fronts or your your stock ones and still need a aal for your rear. This lift will give you your FULL 3" like you wanted and you can mud and wheel. It comes with everything.

I would have to say that for his uses that kit is fine. It will keep the same factory ride and not stiffen it up. I do not know why people are saying this will stiffen the ride, it can't it is a top plate not preload spacer.

 

well there is slightly more travel than the OEM strut will allow so you do get a little more downtravel than you are saying. And it should still top out the strut because I know you do not need to compress the coil to fit them in between so there must be enough room somehow.

 

I was told this was not the case by fat bobs garage. They said it will still use the bumpstop. Even if it does not contact it you can put in a longer bump stop to fix that.

 

And there is the key to your statement. Take that sentence out, and your statement is false.

 

So are you guys saying this lift will ride bad and be unsafe it the truck is used 99.99999% of the time on the street and the rest on dirt roads. I know people who have used these kinds of lifts for years and never had a single problem with ride or stuff breaking.
Hell if you have a lease I would do it for sure. I have a lease and have Icons, but if I had it to do over again I would think long and hard about saving some more money.

ok that lift is for the regular leaf spring package i have the tsb i called that website and they didnt know what tsb was they called procomp when i was on hold and procomp didnt know what tsb was ????????/ UGH

 

I saw something in the October 2009 issue of Off-Road Magazine that has a picture of a Tacoma in a Bilstein 5100 advirtisement that says you can now get up to 2.75" of lift. Maybe there is a new design? You could look into that.
