Ordering new leaf springs, what else do I need?

Ok so I'm not eligible for the rear suspension TSB (43,000 miles) and I need new leaf springs. The stock ones on my 2007 Double cab bottom out way too easy, not to mention the terrible SQUEEEEEK.

Looking to order some Dakar springs http://trdparts4u.com/PD-CS047R.aspx?MakeID=1

My question is what else do I need to make them work with my truck. New U bolts? New bushings? etc.

Thanks for the help.

If you're going through the labor of replacing the leaf springs, spend the extra $50 and get all new bolts and bushings along with the new u-bolts.

Old parts don't always like to come apart so you may have to cut off the old bolts. Best to have the new parts handy just in case. In any event, new hardware makes assembly a breeze.

Make sure you get at least grade 8 hardware.

If you buy them from trdparts4u, you may want to give them a quick call before placing your order. They carry the bushings, u-bolts, and driveline carrier bearing drop kit (if you plan on using this), but they don't list these items online. When you place your order, you have to put those items in the notes of your order (kinda wonky IMO)... which is why you should call them before placing your order. The other weird thing is that they wont take orders over the phone... you have to place your order online. Even though their system is a little weird... they do take care of you.

You probably wont need extended brake lines... but it's something to consider.

Good luck with your build.

I got the OME 3" kit. You'll need leaf bushings, longer U-bolts, bearing bracket and if you do any off road stuff i would recommend brake line extensions. Call Jacque, Gerone or Barb at TRDparts4u and they will take GREAT care of you.

Great idea. There is no need to purchse the same parts twice. Looking forward to pics!

Thanks for all the responses guys!

I called my local off road shop to get an estimate on installation costs (I'm lazy I know). He tried to tell me they wouldn't install new leafs that give me +2.75 inches in the rear without installing a lift in the front too. He said it would be dangerous and they wouldn't do it. I'm pretty sure he was just trying to sell me a lift kit but, I'm new at this so I said thanks anyways and hung up.

he's kinda got a point. w/ a stock front and nearly 3 in lift in the back ( 2.5 once the spings setlle) your gonna have a major dragster set up going on and in all honesty it's gonna look lame and could make the handling of your truck kinda sketchy. if $ is a factor just get some bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks to get the front up a bit and get it closer to a level stance (rear end will still sit higher)
