That's the problem, I think my UCA's are binding on the coils or are at the bottom of their travel as it is.

oh, bummer. maybe the larger uni ball would help IDK, but then i think you'd have to swap for a whole new UCA. i'd call up camburg and see if they can help ya over the phone

Hopefully this doesn't sound dumb, but what do you mean when you say the shocks preload? I understand that its the amount of pressure or something like that but how does this affect the shocks dampening abilities?

I heard sway a ways can go up to 3" but I heard they ride like shit above 2.5". toytec can go up to 3.5" but my guess is it rides like shit at 3.5" just like the sway a ways ride like shit at 3".

With that said, if you want a full 3" lift I think toytec is better...at least that's what I've gathered from reading stuff here.

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
How important is it to be able to rebuild a coilover? I've seen two guys in this thread say they have SAWs or something and have never had to rebuild them. With the nonrebuildable Toytec, what kind of life can I expect to get out of them?

I can't give you an exact amount but I usually sell it as a Truck/Life Time investment.

We've been selling these kits for years, while we warranty the coilover for the Life Time of the original owner/vehicle. Since I've been working for the company now for almost two years, I haven't seen one returned yet.
How long do you expect to keep your vehicle?

Should last you a long time. :)

You are mistaking them for Bilstein 5100's that uses snap rings...ToyTec coilovers are threaded shaft with a collar that adjusts the preload amount on the spring thus giving its lift. As far as life on the coilovers...depends on your daily use. If they don't leak or feel mushy, no rebuild is necessary...again...if it works, don't fix it.

my saw 2.0's seem like they need new springs. I have A LOT of preload on them just to achieve 2.5" of lift. They do ride really nice though.

I would not recommend getting 3" of lift out of them

Click my sig pic for build thread

Did you spray WD40 on the threads before adjusting? I had no issue with cranking mine. I actually like the design of the toytecs..They use stub Acme self locking threads as apposed to v threads.. In the oilfield we use acme threads as pretty much a standard for power screw applications.. It's just a better design.

I ordered the toytec BOSS kit. It comes with eibach springs and shocks and the threads are on the shock body. Would this be considered a "true" coilover? I'm also looking to gain as much lift as possible and get a better ride than the OME 881s and top plate. So I guess I'd better stay with this? Because low range off-road has great prices on SAWS.

881's with top plate should had yielded 3" but these Boss you want to keep around 2.5" max some went to 3" but you sacrifice ride quality.

Nope. The driver side lean annoys the hell out of me. The ride is also terrible. I've hit rough rail road crossing and I swear I gain lift out of my seat. So I guess the question is what's a better ride on road toytecs BOSS all the way or SAWS all the way?

I have SAW leveled height to stock rear and Kings now leveled to Wheeler's 5 leaf rear pack and the Kings ride better even tho they are preloaded more compared to the Sway's. Also my SAW's was 2.0 and Kings are 2.5 diameter. Driverside lean was the reason I went with coilovers myself.
