Correct. Camber and Toe affect the tire wear.

ok, just wanted to be sure, because I might have to live with the caster until I get back from my trip :(

I'm just sayin fuck it & getting UCAs before trying for better alignment & especially before getting new tires. Mine's mostly a caster driving "feel" thing more than tire wear. Camber & toe are good, caster could be better but I went 2.5 up front so it was expected. Good info here.............

you should level out both sides and have them recheck the angles. the factory cams for camber and caster dont allow for that much adjustment. after you lift it it makes it harder to achieve 0. caster isnt a wearing angle but camber is and its going to wear the outside shoulders.

Just from a theoretical perspective, it seems like it'd be best to have your alignment made with your truck at as close to its average weight as possible. For example, fill the tank half-full, have a ballast that's close to your body weight in the driver seat, make sure your normal load of tools, gear is in the truck, etc.

Does anyone else try for this? I'm sure it's less of an issue with a truck since you don't get as much suspension compression from passengers as you might in a light car, but seems like if you wanted to go for the 'best', you'd need to think about variable weights and how they affect the alignment.

Of course, I'm saying all this without a deep knowledge of how load affects alignment. More just as a passing thought.

I had an AAL made, and shim'ed the front driver side that kept the truck level with 3/4 tank of fuel. :)

Well...Your Camber isnt near 0*. Its at .8*.. That means your tires are gonna wear the outside, as they look like this from the front:

Chris, looks like I am going to pick up some LR UCA's, are they easy to figure out how to adjust, it remains to be seen if I go back to the same place for alignment or a different place, in either case most places around where I am at are going to be very unfamiliar with adjustable UCA's...

Also in defense of the dealer, if I had known I was plus 2 inches in lift the numbers I got would not have seemed odd...my stupidity at work there..

.8 ??? My last numbers I posted were

    Left -- Right

    Left - Camber .4 Right - Camber .3

    Left - Caster 1.1 Right -
    Caster 1.0

    Left - Toe .04 Right - Toe .02

The specs from Toyota on camber are -0.3 - 1.2 so I am within specs on Camber

The LR UCA's are pretty simple to figure out. You set them before you install them, and all should be good. Ok....for some reason I thought you were still at .8*. 0* is the best setting, and personally, when you get the UCA's installed, tell them 0* Toe and Camber. Not .4*, not .2*

    thanks...

So if I follow you right, once I put the UCA's in they DO NOT have to be adjusted while on the vehicle?? You set them BEFORE putting them on then go have an alignment done?

If that is the case what do I set them at?

I cant remember off hand. You may have to ask someone who has them. Plenty of pics on here that show what they look like adjusted, so I would wait until your ready to put them on, or when you get them, then ask some people who are running them. Once they are on the truck, they shouldnt have to be touched again.

Thanks Chris, is it correct in my assumption that the TC UCA's have no adjustments on them? There are just bolt in and then get aligned?

Your way low on Caster. you need about 2.8* And the Camber should be closer to 0*
