Alignment issues??

I have had my truck "lined up" (thats what I call it) twice. It drives straight as an arrow. But Iv noticed that my fornt tires are wearing on the outsides for some reason. I do have balance issues can not get them balanced have had them balanced like 6 times with no luck. The tires are yokahama Geolanders. Im getting in the next week some factory 16in rims with factory donlaps that come off a 09 tacoma with 1,800 miles on them. Just was wondering if I need to spend the money to get the truck "lined up" or sould I save the money? Or is the wear coming from the balance issues and not the alignment?

 

post your alignment #'s and how much lift are you running?

 

Dont know the #'s, but I have stock suspension w/no lift. Factory 265/75/15's if that helps out.

 

I just got mine done I have the 5100's at 1.75 and an AAL.
Left front
Camber .2
caster 1.8
toe .02

right front
Camber .5
Caster 1.8
toe .06

Total toe .08
steer ahead -0.02

 

Its weird Iv seen wearing on the inside of the tires but never have realy seen wear on the outside of both front tires.
Im talking about other tires not the ones I have! Mine are wearing on the outside of both front tires.

 

Everything checked out ok in your front end? Ball joints, tie-rods, rack and pinion bushings, suspension? If it's outside wear it's either toed-in or too much positive camber. But most likely it's toe. Post your numbers if you can. If it was done right you shouldn't have to align again if you change your wheels out.

 

Ok Ill look everything over good sometime or another. The first time I had it done I done it at school, then I had the yokahamas put on and I had it re-aligned at the tire shop (thats what they recommended). But I cant remember what the #'s were its been about a year since the last time I had it aligned. It might be due to re-check IDK. How often sould you have to re-align a truck? It's always a good idea to get an alignment when you put on new tires. You may not even need it but at least have it checked. But other times would be like in your case, unusual tread wear, a pull from one side or the other, if you were in an accident or hit a curb or something, replaced a front-end component ie. tie-rods, and also of course when you lift your truck. Some shops may say like get an alignment once a year for maintenance, i say that's BS. I actually overheard that from a Sears Auto manager.

 

Just wondering whats ur tire pressure, my friend was running his at 20 psi and within 4 months the outsides of the tires were showing a lot of wear.

 

I was runnung 32psi but not any more I got my new tires!!!! Ill see how it works out for now.

 

You might want to check your shock, because bad shocks can cause tire wear.
