getting ready to lift my truck...

going to take this in steps only because i can only buy so many parts at once. been reading alot of these threads just got a few of my own questions that im still confused on.

1. should i start with the front 5100s since that will at least level my truck, and at what setting would that be?

2. for the 3" lift that everyone seems to have (which i think looks great) what setting do you put your 5100s at, and what kind of lift do you do for the rear? (i dont have tsb done)

3. i think the rear 5100s are just for better ride quality? so do i need them or could i just put on an AAL once i get the money?

4. at what height do i need to get new UCAs?


is there anyone near corvallis? or around oregon that could help me install it once i get everything together?

1. since you have the regular 3 leaf non tsb pack set them at .85" and you should be good

2. the 5100's will only give you a max of 2.5" of lift. i'd get a 1.5" aal in the rear to level at the truck at that height.

3. yes you are correct, rear 5100's do not lift the rear, just provide for better ride quality. they are not NEEDED but i would recommend them if you put an aal on the rear.

4. usually they say anything over or at 3" you should get aftermarket uca's. some get them with bilstein's at 2.5" but its a hit and miss. i personally would recommend them but wait and see if you can get the truck aligned to specs first without them.

yes you can do that for now, then lift it up more later. thats the best thing about the 5100's, their adjustability!

it is actually recommended you run your 5100's with stock coils especially if you plan on lifting the truck with the 5100's. if you get, for example, ome 884/885/886 coils you should set the 5100's at 0" and lift it that way. if not you are going to have a way harsh ride.

 

when i do go ahead and do the 3" lift do i need to get new coils or could i simply jack up the 5100s to 2.5" and put on the AALs.

if you want a full 3" you need to do a different kit. but if you want a 2.5" lift then jack the 5100's up to 2.5" and add the 1.5" aal for a level look. if you want a little bit of rake get a 2" aal.
