Rancho Shocks

I'm planning on replacing my rear shocks with the Rancho brand. I see that there are a number available. Which one would be the best compromise between cost and performance. I own a 4 WD 2005 Toyota Tacoma. Jim

 

yeah what chris 4x4 said, go with the bilstein 5100 shocks, they are far better then the ranchos. every rancho i've run in any vehicle i've owned were POS.

 

X3! to what chris said. If you go cheap now on your truck, you'll be replacing it later down the road and it'll be more expensive.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Rancho. I've used them in the past (years ago) and I had atleast 2 shocks leak - luckily at the time, they had a lifetime warrantee. They don't last very long either - I was lucky to get 2 years out of them (piston leaked).

 

I had the Rancho RS5000 on my 95 Tacoma 4X4 front and back. I think I installed them on my truck at about 80K miles and they were still on there when my truck went to the crusher with 146K miles. I have no complaints about them; they never leaked and performed properly.
