Rear diff info needed

    locking the diff, both rear tires go the same speed. Thats what causes the fish tailing. That is why you take it easy on the gas so you dont break traction. I used to drive my K5 in the snow all the time with the rear locker in, never had a problem. It did fishtail easy but its a controlled fishtail. People that arent 100% comfotable in the snow tend to panic. Ex stomp on break or gas=bad idea. when turning keep the wheels moving nice and easy...hit the brakes and you can slide out, hit the gas and slide out kepp your foot right where it is lets the truck take the line you choose. Trust me i have driven in snow all my life, if used properly a locker is a great thing to have even in snow.

    thanks for all the info guys, and yes jhodge i have the tss package but im looking to buy an 08 rugged trail and i am trying to figure out if the diff lock will be ok so i dont have to get a 4x4. i mentioned uphill gravel roads because of the cabin i go to. wasnt sure which option would be better

    haha yea i'm not sure. isn't the gas mileage a big difference?

    no...the 4x4 gets like 1mpg less...but a stock dc 4x4 can still get 21-22 highway. even after all my shit i can still average 18-18.5 mixed driving
