Would it be easier to completely disconnect the calipers/remove brake lines first and test fit them on the new spindles? It seems like it would be easier to grind them down when they are off the truck. Can you just use a dremel to grind them down?

How hard was it to remove the hub assembly from the spindle? Any special tools required?

I have really been wanting to get a set of these, I just want to know how hard the install is going to be.

Its easy to remove the hub assembly, 4 bolts each side and no special tools required at all.

The grinding is easy, once things are back on place the caliper on the disk and if it doesn't slide all the way on to align the 2 bolts take it off and grind until it does. At that time its a do and check thing.

Set aside a good 8 hours to do this you will need all the time and be patient. Things don't always go smoothly but if you rush it and get mad your likely to mess something up. Many people have done this themselves and with instructions, patient, and asking questions to other members very easy!

Alright this is a heads up for those who install themselves: you need the grease the balls off the wheel bearings and new housing assembly otherwise your wheel bearings will go to hell and you'll have to take off the hub assmbly, break lines and all that good stuff.

Mine just went and I'm not a happy camper :(

^ why would you have to add extra grease? as long as you kept the bearings completely clean when you installed them, there should be no issues w/ the swap? there was no extra grease in my OEM spindles when i installed mine.

i think there is some other cause as to why yours failed.

When I called camburg that's the only thing that they told me. I also mentioned that I didn't take apart the hub assmbly and also noticed that there wasn't any greasy in my spindle. They still mentioned that that's most likely the problem. I'm gonna take it in for another alignment and see what happens with that. Otherwise there really isn't anything else I can do, well take it in to toyota or a shop to see if they can figure it out other than that I don't know

^ well, that doesnt really make any sense to me. i'll ask some of the mechanics i know at the refineries that i work w/ to confirm, but it sounds like camburg is bs'ing a little on this one.

^what do you think it might be? I went to the alignment shop, my alignment checked out and thinking about it it doesn't make sense because the hub assembly was never taken apart.

I don't kmow what it could be cause my wheels are balanced

^ well...what exactly are the symptoms? why do you think it is the wheel bearings? what exactly is the problem?

cant really suggest anything until i know exactly what is the matter.

Forgot I didn't post in this thread sorry.

Ok so when I get to cruising speeds around 55+, I get spuratic steering wheel vibrations. They can range from 30 min of driving then the return trip no vibrations at all. On a given drive it can go 5 min of vibrating a couple of it stopped then a min of vibrating and then 20 minutes of it not.

I have gotten tire balancing done mulptiple times as well as took it back in for a realignment, non of that helped. I have gone over the install and retorqued everything I could without getting the bolts on the hub assembly, I visually looked and non of them are backed out at all.

    Any ideas?

you trade your current spindles w/ camburg w/ the spindles that have the sway bar provisions in them! seriously, you would have to do some fabbing, cutting and welding to make the sway bar work if they did not come from camburg like that.

this is the reason i got mine w/ the sway bar provision, i can always not use it, but at least i have it!

Hey man what size tires are you running in these pics? What tire is it? What do you have the coilovers set at? Is it 1.6" (coils) + 4" (spindles) totaling 5.6"?

I'm seriously considering getting some Camburg spindles but I dont wan't them to dwarf my 265/75/16 Duratracs, which are basically brand new so I am stuck with them for a while.
