Icons Nitrogen presure????

I installed a set of Icon's coils over six months ago. They are set at OEM height except the left side where I had to compensate for the famous Tacoma lean. May be 1/2". Lately I hear a small tug at low speed 0-20 mph. I checked every little bolt and retorque everything again. Everything looks OK. Next I replaced the Icon with OEM set up and the tug went away.

Now my question is- what could make this noise ????

I know in my mountain bike if the air pressure is low i get the same tug,

Is possible that the Nitrogen pressure is low ???
What is the correct pressure ??? I read something about 200 Psi. Is this correct???

Any help, sugestion is appreciated. Thank you.

 

Can't really comment on the Icons, but I have the Fox 2.5 CO's and I have 200psi in them.

 

if Icon kept similar design to Donahoe, should be 150 psi?

Thank you guy's. I spoke with Mike at Icon and the reason ,,,it could be that I have a leak and I am loosing nitrogen. I am going to find a place and fill it up. If it leaks again,, then I have to send it back and they will take care of. The correct pressure is-(as per MIKE) 225-250.

 

Imagine a hammer hits a piece if wood. It is not metal to metal. I can hear it at low speed only (with the radio shut off). I can feel it over every little bump. The moment I go faster, is gone. I checked the pressure tonight and it was somewhere around 125 psi. Thats really bellow what it should be. Hope this will help.

 

I hear a noise every once in a while over little bumps too. How do you check the pressure and do you have to have the coilovers off of the truck? Or can you check with them installed?

 

Unless you have the gauge, take it to a shop and have them check it. You need a special gauge setup to check the pressure. Reason being, the shock carries so little nitrogen, under such high pressure that the slightest bit of a leak will lower the PSI dramatically. So simply pressing the gauge up against the valve is going to release quite a bit of pressure.

 

Is true , you need a special gauge. This is very sensitive to any leak. Some would sugest that you put like 15-20 psi extra because you will loose some when you remove the valve. This may explain the range 225-250 that Mike from Icon give me.

You can ceck the pressure on the shocks with remote reservoir only. They are equipped with a sradder valve on top of the reservoir. I sugest that you release the two clips that holds the reservoir and you will see the sradder valve on top. If you have the regular shocks you have to send them in -as per Mike from Icon's.
