Hey everyone. About 2 weeks ago i put 275/70/17 BFG A/T T/As on my 09 DC LB, and they rub when braking on turns. I was thinking about putting Bilstein 5100s all the way around and the OME 885 Lift coils in front from Toytec. So with this setup i could get 2in lift in the front with the Billys at 0? Would i run the chance of sporting the infamous taco lean? I would also try to weasel the add-a-leaf tsb from toyota. If i did get the tsb could i set the Billys higher to get a little more lift in the front? Any Advice?

Negative on using the 5100's above the stock setting with the 885 coils. That means you are preloading an extended spring-and can make for a less than ideal ride and is not the way the 5100s are designed to be used.

As far as using the OME coils- Why not get the OME trim packer and the OME shocks- They are valved/designed to be used with the OME coils.

Should have to "weasel" anything- 09s are included and if you have the complaint/problem then have them address it. It's not REALLY an AAL either- It's a complete replacement leaf pack.

Try closer to 3" with the 885's. As member here is selling a set of new Eibach springs. They will provide 1.6" of lift and stock shocks can be used. If not, you could add the 5100's up front. Go with the 0 setting as the Eibach is a 620# spring and if you set the 5100's higher, well just keep a few walnuts to crack inside the truck.

Or, go with the OME 884's/5100. About 2" of lift and a smoother ride as the OME 884's are a 590# spring.

If you go with ome coils get the ome shocks not the 5100's. If you go any other route other than the ome then go with the 5100. The ome coils do lift 3" and to get around the taco lean you get a 1/4" top plate spacer ant intall that on the driver side.

Pretty much ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^what they all said before me :)

toytec recommends the ome shocks with the 885 and 886 coils...but what is the difference with the 884 or 883 coils with 5100s or the ome shocks?

Mo money for the OME shocks...I have the 886 with 5100 and there's no problem with the shocks. Just be prepared to get new UCA's.

The OME shocks are more expensive but they are designed with the OME spring rates in mind when the valving is set up.

You can use them with the 5100s....but I'd rather have the equipment built to go together.

Thanks for the input everybody. When most people install the 5100's, what coils do they use? If i purchased the Bilsteins what else would i need to get to avoid any problems. I will also look into using OME Shocks and coils but, am still kind of leaning toward Bilsteins.

I think most people go with Eibach for the coils, at least that's what I have seen.

I have 5100's with 885's. I love the setup. I also used to have ome shocks paired with the 885's. For me they rode a little too soft. The 5100's make it feel more like a truck.

I have the Eibachs with 5100s set @ .85 and the ride is fine. I only got about 1" of lift set at 0 and got about 1.75" at .85.

Your setup sounds pretty appealing spice man. I think i might go that route.

well i have a reg cab so the 885 and 886 coils are too heavy of springs for me...they recommend using the ome shocks for those heavy springs....instead to level my truck out they have suggested i use the 883 ome springs (500lbs) and get the 5100 shocks and set at 0"...will get about 1 1/2" of lift on the front....they say they have used the 883 springs with the stock shocks and it was ok but of course the billy's would be better....this will be a much better ride than using the stock springs on the billy's and setting it at 1.75".....since with the stock springs you would be compressing the springs and with the ome springs they won't be compressed to get about the same amount of lift

    - Billstein 5100's all around with OME 885 coil springs. - K&N Air Filter - HID Headlights & Fogs - Kenwood Stereo & Infinity Speakers - CB Radio, - Fog On Anytime mod - Anti Tailgate theft mod. More comming...
Has anybody tried 884's plus 5100's set at 0? How much lift would a dbl cab, prerunner get up front?

I'll be measuring the heights this afternoon but for now i'm leaving the back as it is with the TSB and just want to get the front to get level with the rear. I'm thinking somewhere around 2" should be close to level? Like i said, i'll be measuring the difference tonight but I'd like to get someone's input.

Well they always recommend 885's with a double cab since the extra weight. 884' are mostly made for the access cab Tacoma's. I have 885's on my 5100's set at 0" and I got a full 3" lift out of it with the top plate spacer.;)
