Both times I did the install on my truck, I had the SPC logo facing out, like shown in the multiple pics posted in this thread. From there, I loosened the 32mm not on top of the UCA and moved the ball joint as far out as I could (towards the edge of the UCA, away from the truck). Alignment was ok both times.

Do you have a dedicated off-road/truck shop around you? I took mine to one for the alignment. It was a few more dollars but they were familiar with the LR UCAs and it was worth it to me to have someone that knew how to work with what was on the truck.

Did you use new bolts on the top or reuse the old ones? Did you bend anything or do cutting?

It looks like its a little different for every truck. On my '09 removing the bolts was easy and bending a little with a cresent wrench was all that was needed.

On my current truck, 1/2 of the width of the bolt head was in conflict with the fender. The head is a little under an inch wide so its not something that could just be pushed out of the way. Even after bending the single-ply section of sheetmetal fender out of the way there was a spot-welded box like part of the fender that I could not bend. I had to use the face of a pry bar as a ramp for the bolt head to slide across while I beat the shit out of it for a good hour. Once the bolt head cleared the box I was fine.

This is what I'm cautious of since I have a '10 as well. I haven't pulled the trigger yet on a set though.

It was on a '10 but from what I'm reading on here the alignment of various parts is different from truck to truck. On the driver's side some people can flip the UCA bolt around and reinstall it backwards to make it easier. Other people (including myself) could not because the fuel lines were in the way.

I wouldn't count on '09s being easier than '10s or anything. Just luck of the draw. You can take a look at the passenger side bolt and see if its going to be a huge pain. If you're worried about it, just get a new set of UCA bolts and cut the stock one. The passenger side is a breeze to install after you get it out - nothing is in the way.

guys...i had my LR UCAs on my 2010 OR installed yesterday and then had it realigned...it rides like brand new. I had the OME lift installed a month or so ago and the truck wandered pretty bad...shuddered up to 15 mph and down from 15mph. It wasn't terrible but it bothered me.

A friend of mine sent me to a company here in town who works on his race car every now and again...little shop that's been in the same building since 1941...these guys have seen everything...anyway, I got the UCAs installed and the truck aligned for $250. I'm not kidding, the difference is phenominal!!!!

I would recommend this setup to anyone! Just have to find a "knowledgable" shop with guys who know what they're doing. These auto centers don't get it.

Final numbers were toe and camber at around .005 on each side and caster between 2.6 and 3 on each side. Tracks perfectly and feels solid. No more shudder.

Did the bending, very little of it too. Was easy. Reused the bolts, put them back in from the same direction.

So how did the shop uninstall the stock UCAs? Bend or Cut or Neither? I'm curious. I have an appointment with an alignment shop (42 years in business) next week and I'd like to know if there were other ways the "shops" are doing the installation.

neither. it wasn't an issue they said. I was curious too after reading on here the problems that some people were having...but they said things were pretty easy.

So how did they get them out????? If they didn't bend anything and they didn't cut them, I can't imagine how they would be able to get the bolts out. I've looked at with exception of the two methods, I just don't see how they bolts could come out. Not questioning you, more the installation method. Thanks though.
