Advice about Toytec???

I found a 2" lift on toytec. My friend suggested I look at it. Can anyone give me some advice about it???
Here is a link to the 2" lift The reason I ask for advice is because its only $200, and I know what my buddy paid for his 3" tough country, and it was closer to $1300, just curious about the pricing and the brand, seems good but I'd never heard of toytec till today.

 

What your looking at is a spacer lift. and judging by the price your buddy got a suspension lift. The big question is do you want it for looks or performance ie offroading?

 

a spacer lift is definitly not the way to go if you want to do any kind of offroading, but if your just looking for bigger stance out of your truck and you mainly stay on pave then a spacer lift isnt a bad route to go. youll get a rough ride out of any spacer lift not just toytecs. toytec makes some great stuff,alot of people have a toytec ultimate lift and love it.

 

your buddy paid $1300 for a tough country lift? ouch, he got raped.

you get what you pay for, dont expect much from a lift that is only $200. i had a spacer lift and hated it almost imediatly after i put it on. i'd look elsewhere

 

i just checked toytecs site and apparently they dont even make a ultimate lift kit for a "4WD Pickup 86-95 & T100 ". either way though its up to you on the spacer lift .

 

yeah for a 93 pickup your gonna be pretty limited in your options. i know trailmaster makes drop bracket lift kits and total chaos offer long travel kits, but both those are gonna be a little pricey

 

Your truck has a torsion bar front suspension. You can crank up the torsion bars a little for some extra lift. But really your only option is a drop bracket lift, hence the $1300.

 

yeah i'm dumb and didnt read what year truck he has. i was assuming his friend bought a $1300 spacer lift.

 

Thanks guys, I just need some feed back, I like my truck being stock, all my friends are putting lifts on. The guy I told you about put a suspension and a add a leaf. I wouldn't really use it much for off roading, cause where I live there really isn't anywhere to go do that sort of thing. We have some mud holes but thats it. So with the toytec lift it would rough up the ride??

 

Yes. It will not be as smooth as the stock ride.

 

your truck would not ride horrible there would be a difference but the spacers keep your ride the smoothest out of any lift. I recommend if you want a nice smooth ride then dont lift it.

 

And the fact that its a 1993, I'm sure the ride is nothing of what your 07' is.

Sounds good! Would it actually lift it up 2" in the front and the back?? Cause my friend lifted his three inches, but it doens't look like much. But it would look good right?? And if I put the two inch lift on would I need bigger tires than 31x10.5?

 

you would get 2'' of lift in the front but the back might be a different story. You wouldnt need bigger tires then the 31's but bigger tires would definitly fill it out better,say with 32's instead

No i dont like it, not because its toytec but because its a spacer lift and its a horrible ride. I wasnt a member of Tacoma World when i bought it ya see lol if i wouldve been a member then someone would have advised me against it. Im awaiting the arrival of my new lift right now.

 

Yes, the kit should return you 2" in the front and on average 2" in the rear. We do use a longer AAL to help keep the ride as close to stock as possible. With this kit, keep in mind longer rear shocks are required in the rear because of the height gain.

From the sounds of it, you can't quite afford the other kits. We've sold plenty of these kits. I can just about guarantee you will be happy.

BTW, we have been making suspension lifts for Toyota's only for almost 10 years.
