    Pro Comp 6in lift w/ Icon Coilovers,AllPro UCA's, AllPro Baja Leaf pack, Bilstein 5150's in the rear. Tires Mickey Thompson MTZ 275/70R18 w/ procomp 7089 wheels. ARB front bumper with mile marker winch, Custom made all quarter inch steel rear bumper. Demello rock crusher slider's. CoverKing neoprene seat cover's, AllPro trail armor All-pro U-bolt flip kit with Timbren bump stops and many many many other mods, way to many to list.
    I just had a Pro Comp 6in lift installed on my 2010 Tacoma, was told by 4 wheel parts to take it off roading and put about a 1000 miles on it within 10 days and bring it back so they can make sure everything is good with the lift. So today I was driving down an unimproved dirt road out here in yucca valley. When I turned my wheel to the left while going down a hill my Tie rod in backed out of the inner thread shaft, so I got out an inspected and noticed that the shaft nut was not tightned, also my concern is should there b a longer tie rod when doing a 6in lift.

    Don't think they make a special tie rod. Pretty sure the spindal has a piece on it to raise it up or a new spindal. Sounds like they messed up.

    they have done a half ass job on everything i have hearded or seen. not saying this was their fault. but wouldnt surprise me

    Yeah...Pretty sure the whole point of a DB 6 inch lift is to keep the stock parts with the 3 inch coil lift and the extra 3 inches from the spindles/drop bracket. So the stock tie rods should suffice.

    And that leaves us with 4WP screwing the pooch on your/yet another rig....

    its to bad I didnt hear of 4 wheel parts reputation sooner, i might have reconsidered having them install it. I am debationg on having them come pick my truck up this week and taking it back the their shop, I just dont feel safe driving a vehicle knowing the tie rod end may come out, if that happens I may not be talking to u fellas after that.:(

    I did tighten it up, but traveling down the road at 70mph and it comes loose aint worth my life

    Had a buddy of mine about 8 years ago break a tie rod on his 88 toy 4x4. Just had gotten off the freeway in L.A. He was lucky. He said that truck came to a complete stop. Good thing you were wheel'n and not on the freeway!

    either way 4 wheels parts is at fault, its obivious they did not tighten the nut on the shank, these things just dont come off, I mean hell I have done some serious wheelin when my Tacoma was bone stock, and first time wheelin with the new lift defintly shows they funked up.

    make them pick it up with a tow truck and make them fix it on thier dime. You can do what i did and weld the alignment up and the tie rods, just tack welds so shit does not back out.

    Tack weld isn't a horrible idea. Not for the faint of heart. I used to tack my front axle u joint to keep from spinning the caps off from centrifugal force . It was competition mud truck .but o kinda like the idea.
