Would this work?

Right now on my 2003 tacoma I'm looking to just level the front and rear with a 2 inch spacer in the front. Would it be possible in the future to add Bilstein 5100's and set them at 1.75 inches and have a 3.75 inch lift in the front? with most likely an AAL in the rear?

 

you dont want to do more than 3'' in the front. itl start to mess other stuff up

 

what kind of stuff will get messed up?

 

everything. the max lift you can go on stock parts is 3". anything over and you need a drop bracket.

 

works for me, lets say I wanted to not do the spacer and instead get bilsteins and set them at 2.5 inches. I heard people have problems with those getting them correctly aligned?

 

any lift will have slight difficulty getting aligned if you go 2'' or more and dont get after market upper control arms. but from me (full 3'' of lift) its just the caster thats out so its not like it creats wear on anythign it just makes the truck wander a little bit at highway speeds.

 

does it bother you when it wanders?

 

I can barely tell to be honest. Iv heard some people complain about it but it doesnt bother me much if any

 

i know the wandering bothers me. it makes the steering wheel very touchy and sensitive

 

After I did 2.5'' lift on my truck it pulls to the left a little bit but it is not very noticible

 

yup. like I said, I know it pisses some people off but i barely notice it

 

is having the extra .5 inch with the bilsteins instead of the 2 inch spacer worth the wandering?

 

I know a half a inch is noticible in my opinion I did a 2.5 and a 2 would have leveled my truck out that half a inch difference between my front and rear of my truck is bugging the hell out of me. So lol Imo a half a inch is worth what ever little bit of wandering you might get.

 

yea the extrra half inch is definantly noticeable. when I went from spacers to coilovers it brought it up another half inch and it made all the difference

 

Alright thanks for you opinions guys, and also i'm not very good with DIY projects so how much would it cost to get 5100's installed?

 

probably (complete guestimation) around 300-400.

 

No I dont think that high my dad got new struts and all 4 shocks installed out the door for 500 at schuabs. I would guess 150-200 bucks guessing though
