Vibe vs. Shutter questions

    Devil Horns, Wet Okoles, WeatherTechs, Radflo Coilovers, OME Dakar's, FJC Gun metal rims, 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain TA/KO, Rear Diff breather Mod,
    Well I spoke to soon, I had no vibes with the Dakar's installed but this week I installed the coilovers and new UCA and now have a vibe at 25-35 MPH. I am getting an alignment at Toyota tomorrow, hope this fixes it. If the alignment doesn't help I will try removing the CB drop and then may install shims.

    Roger that.
    I will first remove CB drop as this cost me nothing, then if vibe is still there I will order shims. Install shims without CB drop, if vibe still there. Shims and CB drop then I am out of options.

    Your last option would be a 1 piece drive shaft. :)

    Which shim? The carrier bearing or the 3* axel shim?

    If you are referring to the 3* axel shim you don't really need a pic of the install. I cheated, loosened the u-bolt nuts as much as possible, disconnected the brake lines from the side of the truck, jacked up the truck, gently slid in the 3* shims into place (vertical side toward the rear bumper) and retightened the u-bolts. I think I removed the nut from the top of the shock collar just to be safe.

    You actually had to disconnect the brake line, huh? Sounds weird. :)

    I didn't disconnect them and have fluid come out, rather I just detached the 2 bolts from the truck so the lines could hang free when the axel dropped. You know, one of the bolts screws into the leaf hanger, the other into the truck... ring a bell? :D
