Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts, what heigth to adjust to? I need help!!!

I just got some bilstein struts, my question is it is 1-3 inch adjustable so where do I set the ring if I want the full 3? The bottom groove or the top groove? I thinking the top groove but just wanna make sure before I go through all the trouble. And I also got some rev teck extender spacers for the front that I put in with some 3in add a leafs and bilstein 5100's rear shocks in the back. Will my truck sit level or should I make an adjustment on the strut? Its a 03 double cab 4x4 TRD. Thanks

 

it only goes to 2.5, and adding a spacer to that is not recommended. you should get the desired height you want with the 2.5. your truck may lean toward the front a bit once you get the aal added, but you have to give the leaf time to settle.

 

what about the settings I have on the adjustable struts? are they right? I need to be on the top groove to be at 2.5? and wheelers recommended me to get the spacers

 

There are 4 grooves and a snap ring on the shocks which snaps into the setting you want. There should be instructions that came in the box... but the bottom groove is 0 lift, then .85, 1.75 and 2.50 on the top one.

 

no instructions came with them. I was pretty sure it was the top one for 2.5 i just wanted a second opinion before I put everything back together. Thanks buddy

 

i set mine @ 2.5 with top spacer and the guy from toytec doesnt recommend that to set the clip at the second setting which the coils make up for that and add a 1/2 spacer to get a complete 3 like mine i set it @ 2.5 which has maxed it out which mwans ill need to get uca's and my cv boots are at an angle which can cause damage

 

The 5100's for 1st gens have settings for 0, 1.25", and 2.5", they do not have 4 settings.

You can add a very thin top-plate spacer (1/4" thick) to go up to 3" if you like (you will probably need new uca's if you do this), but DO NOT add any spacer that will take you over 3" of lift total.
