OME 885 + OME 9000 or Billy 5100's?

Tried doing a search and didnt really come up with much.

The ome shocks are quite a bit pricier than the 5100's.

i'm debating if i should pair the 885s with the 9000s. the springs are stiff as are the newer 9000's. would it be too stiff of a ride? my truck is a 2wd with no winch etc in the front.

i've heard the billys might be too soft to match up with the 885 spring...

another option would be to use the stock springs and go with the billys up front, but those dang stock setup seems wayyyyy too soft for my liking.... i dont think a simple shock would make it much stiffer.

For the rear i've got a toytec aal which raised it roughly 2" and i will be using the 5100's in the rear.

are the ome 9000's worth the extra money? for less than $100 more i can get all four 5100's...

I dont have any first hand experiance with the new OME 900000 shocks, but they are supposed to be valved a little more firm than the last set (N140S). That being said, I would lean tward the 5100's.

would it be better to get the 5100's set at .85 on the 885's than it would be to get the new ome shocks with top plate spacers?

The 885's should give 3" lift, so you wont need the spacers, or to pre load the springs with the .85 setting.

thats what Im worried about; I have read that some people have gotten 3" out of the springs, while others have gotten 2.5" or something near there.

Have and not need is greater than need and not have, right? I don't know though.

I really like the firm ride switching from stock to the OME 884s + OME 90000s.

OP, I have the 885's with 9000's and the top plate spacer up front. I would most definitely recommend them. The first week I noticed they how stiff everything was compared to stock, but after about two weeks and two short wheeling sessions, everything has softened up. Now I would say most of the stiffness I feel is because my ATZ's are E load (10 ply?). I picked the 9000's over the old ones when I ordered because their description said a more "euro style", I figured I tend drive and corner on the fast side so they would suit me better. I think they're great.
