Procomp 3" Lift

Sup everyone, since I've joined this forum I have not been able to sleep very well because of all the excitement of seeing everyone's mods. It's worst than when I got my Xbox 360. Anyway, I've been looking at doing a 3" Lift and do not have enough funds at the moment to do a full stage 2 lift and my sales guy at 4Wheel Parts suggested I go with the Pro Comp 3" Lift. He quoted me about $850 to get the lift kit, labor and allignment done and sent me this pic (attached) that it was installed on. I like it and will prob not be doing too much hardcore off-roading except when I get to go dirt bike riding and snowboarding.

If you've commented on this subject before and it bores you....just move on and ingore. For all the cools guys that dont mind sharing some knowledge on this, good or bad, I would appreciate the feedback. I'm new at this and feel like a kid in a candy store. Thanks in advance to all those that respond.

 

The procomp is just a spacer and for that money you could get a much higher quality then that. Like OME lift, or Billistine 5100s. Also Personally I would just wait and get the stage II.

I am not aware of any Procomp 3in Lift that involves spacers.

The 3in Lift is a True lift with replacement springs, rear aal and all new shocks.

I have the lift and It has given me no issues, Check out my gallery for pictures.

 

If your not going to be doing too much off roading I say go with Toytec 3". Then go to the toytec discount thread and ask for a discount code.
Checkout my build to see what the 3" looks like. Oh the 3" lift from toytec is a spacer kit, so if you want suspension go with the billy's or OME.

The spacers go up front, they do have add a leafs but they are about 1.5 feet which will only lift it. Heres a picture of the kit

I looked everywhere for that kit to see if they still made it.

From the price he is quoted i sure hope its not that kit, it costs under 200 dollars. That would be over 650 dollars for installation!

The true kit costs around 400 dollars, which would be more in line with his quoted pricing.

 

Im sure they are talking about this procomp, with no spacers.

I would still go with ToyTec/OME kit.

 

I ran that kit for about a year. No complaints from me other than it felt a bit stiffer than stock, but I'm sure all the 3" lifts do. I've taken that thing up Cleghorn and did most of the bypasses with ease. Also took it to the Hammers race and had no problems running it through the desert going from location to location.

Yeah I had it..I am currently in the process of getting the Engage Long Travel kit installed

 

I have the kit- the full suspension kit- NO spacers. Like was said before, it's a bit stiffer then stock. So far I've had no problems. I did add a wheelers aal with it though. The front sat a bit high for me. I like a little bit of rake. It has done fine offroad aswell. If I hit the trails every weekend maybe I'd spend the extra $$ on OME or toytec. But I only wheel every few months and in FL that's limited.
For the guy's knocking it, swing on by check it out, then make your opinion.

 

I have the procomp suspension lift. It's pretty stiff but it was only $375 on sale. If I were going to start over I would have got the Toytec ULK though.

Save yourself some money and install it yourself.

 

Would you recommend the self-install to someone with zero knowledge of the undercarriage of a truck, and nothing more to lift his truck than the emergency jack that came with it? `

 

thats how I was, but my dad and I got my 5100's and AAL on in about 6 hours. Just read the DIY's, and follow step by step. You will get it. Its just bolts...

 

LOL Fair enough. I was wondering if it would be as simple as the air intake and the magnaflow. I paid people to do both while I watched, and realized I should've done it myself..

 

I have the 3" pro comp, and there is no spacers... But I like it and I have had no problems with it at all and it actually rides pretty good
