Need some input

Ok well i put my bilsteins on and have been trying to get an alignment done but nobody can make it ride without pulling to the left. First took it to pepboys and it pulled bad to the left. Now i just got back from another place and it still pulls. the specs from the last shop are...

Caster left: 1.4 right: 2.0
Camber left: .8 right: .6
toe left: .03 right: .03

and from Pepboys the specs are

Caster left: 2.1 right: 2.8
Camber left: 1.4 right .3
Toe left: .03 right .06

But it still wants to pull so do you guys think that the techs dont know what theyre doin, or were the shocks not properly installed on the coils. I inspected them, they seated right the plate wasnt upside down and everything seemed to look good. Is there anything that i should look for cause two alignments and it wont align? Im think about have the suspension tsb done and hopefully theyll align it and it wont be a problem. Any body got an input.

 

don't know if this will help with the pulling, but your left side caster and camber numbers should be closer to the numbers you have on the right side (caster up, camber down)

The vehicle will pull to the side with the less positive caster, and to the side with the most positive camber.

In both cases, yours should be pulling to the left, but you actually want it to pull a tiny bit left to compensate for the road crown.
I used to do alignments, and my guess is that during the work someone rotated your tires left to right, which is generally a no-no with radial tires.

Try switching the front tires side to side, if it pulls the other way, then move them to the back and bring the rears straight forward.

 

Yea i did switch the tires the tech said that should fix it, but no if i hold the wheel straight on most grades ill go right into the other lane.

 

my bilsteins are set at 1.75 and yes i got my money back both times in case your wondering.

 

Ok, that's not a pull then. What they need to do is straighten the steering wheel. They need to make sure the wheel is straight when they set the toe.

This won't cause any trouble the way it is, other than a crooked steering wheel, which is only cosmetic, but annoying.

So youd say its the techs dont straightening the wheel then? Cause god id hate to take off my bilsteins.

Ohh also i read the caster should be 2.4 range and everything else set to 0, should i worry about that?

 

anything from 2.4 to 2.8 is fine. and yes, you're correct that everything else should be zero.

if your toe and camber are good, your tires will wear evenly, even if your steering wheel isn't straight. it just means your steering needs to be "shifted" over a degree or however far off it is via the tie rods
