Rear lift problems

Had a 1.5 aal installed. Started making that really bad squeaking noise so brought it back to the shop to have them take a look at it. They lubed it with white lithium and off I went. Squeaking started again, so I brought it back. They ended up grinding a bit off the ends and relubing it.. Noise went away for 2 days, but came back again. Called the shop again, and they are willing to change out my aal for a 1 or 1.5 in. block. I don't do any off roading, but do load up the bed every once in a while.

Options.
1. Keep the aal and try to relube again. And wait for the next leaf pack group buy.
2. Let the shop install the block and go with that.
3. Purchase the toytec or wheelers aal (comes with cut ends and anti-friction pads) let the shop off the hook, and install myself.

 

1. Reinstall same AAL: pressurewash leafpack, spray down with lube, reinstall correctly.

3. Those 'anti friction' pads on the Wheelers etc AALs are in the spots where the noises come from, so that's also a good alternative.

 

If the AALs you purchased did not have the friction pads that is most likely where the squeek is comming from.
The grease will not last longer than it took to drive off the lot.

 

Go for the new ones.
