Lift for 06 Access cab 4x4
I'm planning on lifting my truck to add some bigger tires and gain some ground clearance. Most likely will go with some 17" XD wheels and 285/70 BFG's. The original method I was going to go with was a 2" "puck?" Im not sure if that is the spacer everyone is talking about but Im curious how/where it is installed. Also, is this the same as the leveling kit? Once I actually went to a 4x4 shop to price the whole thing, they recommended going with a coil kit with AAL's for the rear. Im just curious what is the best method for durability and ride. I also want to keep the angles on my drive train to a minimum but still be able to fit the wheels.

The coils wil give a better ride. If you lift, you are going to change your angles. If you end up with vibrations, there are a few things you can do to fix them.

Silver,I saw there were 2 types of AAL's. One came with a block and the other did not. Which do u have and do u know which is better? Also, I'm looking to go with 17's for my wheels. How much clearance do u have?

Chris,Yeah I dont need vibrations! Are they common and how do u fix them. Also, do u recommend a front diff lowering kit to minimize the angles?

Alright...so if I just go with the 2" puck/spacer up front and AAL on the rear. What size tires can I go with? 17's?

Last Question...So Ive been looking around and noticed a few different lifts. My plan is to go with the 3" basic kit from either toyec or revtec. I actually seem to like the revtec better. I'll go with the AAL option. I went to a shop and saw a few they were doing. After the lift they had 275/70 18's on there with only minor trimming. What do u guys think. Does this sound ok?

chris...I have the same truck as you. How big (what brand too) is your lift and what size tires/wheels did that allow for? Did you have to trimming?

Back = TSB leaves, custom made 1" AAL, Bilstien 5100 shocks. Wheels are Helo Maxx 6 18x9 Tires are Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/60/18 (roughly 32") No rubbing unless compressed and turning. I havent trimmed as I want to see if I can grind it away with the tires.

So is this correct? you have 5 leaf springs? TSB and AAL added to that.
