3" Toytec lift question

So I'm about to order a 3" lift from Toytec and have done all the reading I can on here but still haven't found a definitive opinion on one thing. They offer the 3" with spacers and the 3" with longer coils, they both use AAL's in the rear. I know the longer coils will only leave me with 1" of down travel with factory shocks. The longer coil kit is only $70 more so price is not an issue. I'm not replacing factory shocks anytime soon. I'm a newb to suspension, which shoul. I go with? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

 

If you are just using your factory coils, then probably want to go with the spacer lift, as long as it is not all Topspacer to get 3" of lift.

 

So go with the 3" toytec that uses the spacers and not the coils?

Not sure what year your truck is, But your best bet would be to get a set of 5100s, and set them at 2.5" of lift. Then for the rear get an AAL that will lift 1.5" and your truck should sit level, plus have improved ride and performance from the upgrade in front shocks.

Go with Leepers, much better quality. They are Donahoes without the branding since donahoe and the manuf. had a falling out. Here are pics: $500!

yup, 89 $ or so from toytec for the add a leaf

 

don't have to to start out though, just dont' set as high at first until you get the add a leaf

 

Understood. But mine only being a 2wd SR5 Prerunner are coilovers really necesarry ? I know that's a great price but I only do light trail driving to take dirtbike out or just to screw around...

 

compare the $500 for coilovers against what you'll pay for non-coilovers, lol. For like $100 more its such a better product and gives you flexibility for the future

 

Toytec 3" spacer lift with AALs is only $230. Over 2x the price. That's the only thing stopping me....

 

You'll highly regret a spacer. Talk about a rough ride. Your better off with nothing at all. Can't say I didn't tell you...

 

Lol, I'm not arguing, just weighing my options. I'm a newb to this. I understand the basics but don't want to regret these descions, I love my truck and will drive it for multiple more years, only 29k on it now and I drive vehichles 'til they fall apart

 

How can I tell if my front coils are worn? '96 with 194k, rides real soft up front but I have to think the shocks would be causing this since they are original, and tend to not last as long as coils. Would love to do a 5100 in front since its the least expensive way vs a coilover.

so you say the coilovers are only $500??? where are you seeing those? The icons, listed above are $1300?

Are you talking just the coils for coilovers? or with shocks too...
