New coilovers-popping noises

I installed new coilovers and am getting multiple popping noises when starting to move from a stop. I re-torqued the following:
Lower Shock Bolt, Sway Bar end link.

I can't re-torque the following due to space constraints so I just tightened as much as possible:
3 top bolts

I didn't torque the castle nut for the ball joint because Chris4x4's write up didn't list a torque setting, so I just tightened it.

My measurments are:
Front Drivers: 24.25
Front Pass: 24.5
Rear Drivers: 24.5
Rear Pass: 24.5

Here are some pictures of the front coilovers installed, CV's, and UCA's:












Also a possibility that their cranked to high so I don't know if that's causing it.

Any ideas?

If you have them cranked too high, when you accelerate the front comes up and not having any downtravel left means the front pulls up at the end of the c/os cycle = pop?

 

OK, I added pics....any ideas? I'm getting the spanner wrench on Tuesday and will lower the front about an inch

 

Sounds like you have them cranked up to high bro. My buddy had the same problem when he put his SAW's on. He cranked the hell outta them for lift. But didnt account for the downward travel. Bring them down about an inch ( dont know what size tires your running) and you should be alright. If for some chance it doesnt go away, have someone drive your truck slowly up onto a curb or some type of bump, walk along side your truck and see if anything is binding, especially around your swaybar... Hope it helps out.

 

I added the toytec add a leaf for tsb and it sits level. So basically if I lower them then the front will be lower than the back.

I'm fine with that but I thought it should be good at 3" of lift. Are the keepers just designed for less lift? Or do most lifted trucks keep the rake?

 

Thanks chris. But does that mean that most 4x4s that run a lift keep the front lower than the back or do they just not install an add a leaf?

 

Ok I lowered it 1". Man what a workout. Dad has lots of tools so no need for a spanner wrench!

4x4s arent really supposed to go much past 2.5" b/c of CVs.

also, you should always torque down all bolts. when i installed my spindles i didnt have a torque wrench handy so i just cranked down the lower ball joint holder. started to get poping noised at full lock...yep, they were still loose enough to barely move. torqued them down and the noise went away!

oh and ...got downtravel?!! that upper ball joint is screaming for mercy!!

 

OK. I took new measurments after dropping down:

Old:
1.75" of thread showing =
FL - 24.25
FR - 24.5
^^^Center of hub to bottom of fender

New:
1" of thread showing:
FL - 22.75
FR - 22.75

The noise seems to be gone now but will know for sure tomorrow morning when I usually hear it.

Question: How much lift do I have over stock (don't have those #s)? Will I be able to fit 285s?

Oh, and how do you touque that castle nut down? I mean there is a hole that needs to line up for the wire pin to go through...I doubt it will line up exactly at the correct torque...
