Got my Billys and springs...next up...

So UPS just dropped off a box which contained 2-5100's, 2-eibach springs and and 2 aal's (Thanks toddt!)

I 've read around that people have been setting their billys to 0.85 when using the eibach springs and having 2" aal in the rear. Seems very common and seems like they have no complaints either. The only thing i noticed is that the trucks running that setup seem their rear ends just a tad bit higher than the front.

My questions are:
1. Is anybody running billys set at 1.75 and eibach springs?
2. Does it give your truck any kind of rake or does it level it out?

I would say it would put the front higher being as most people set them at .85 with stock springs for a level. Either that or 0 with the Eibach springs. The springs give 1.6in of lift so your looking at what...1.75+1.6....3.3 in of lift. I guess if your running AAL's you will prolly be fine.

 

I'm pretty sure .85 is the max setting you can use when used with the Eibachs.

 

Even if i run 2" aal's in the rear?

 

I'm reasonably sure that what you run in the rear has no bearing on the limitations when using both the 5100's and Eibachs on the front.

If my understanding is solid, i believe those in the know recommend the 5100's be set at '0', (or 'stock' height) when used in conjunction with the Eibachs, though off the record, a max setting of .85 is doable.

I wouldn't go beyond the .85 under any circumstance, based on my understanding. If you are looking for more lift than that up front, i'd look at other options.

 

I would not go above the. 85 setting, I have mine at. 85 with a. 50 inch spacer on the drivers side and. 25 inch space on the pass side with the tsb aal and I have about a 2.5 inch rake you can see a pic in my gallery

 

Do not put the eibachs any higher then 0.85...I talked to Toytec, and eibach about this, and it is a very bad idea to go any higher! The springs are much longer, and have a lot more force in them. The 0.85 setting works fine...it's what I have, along with the 2" AAL and there is some rake, but not a lot...maybe a bit more then 1.25". Also keep in mind that the arch of the rear fender is approx. 0.5-0.75" higher then the front, so take that into account. I got 2.6" of lift in front on my d-cab short box 4x4, and 2.25" in the back. Measures before were 35" in front, and 37" in back...now it's 37.6" and 39.25" measured through the hub to the wheel arch. If you minus that 0.5-0.75" off the back then it's not much of a difference.

 

Ok so dont go higher than 0.85 setting. got it.

Now, will i need a 1/4" spacer to compensate for the taco lean effect?

 

I needed it...worked great! Truck is completly level now.

 

One more question...Where can i find the torque specs for when i re-install everything???

yes, .85 is the max you can go with the Billy/Eibach setup. That info came from Toytec as well. You will Love the ride difference. I have the TSB and I have 1.5" springs sitting right behind my desk...I need to get them installed...

 

Enjoy the set up...I'm very, very happy with mine. Make sure after you install it, give it 3-4 days to settle (if possible) and get an experienced alignment shop to do your alignment...it's imparative to get a good alignment, not just to "spec". If you have any ? just PM me.
