If you had Air Bags, would you update rear leaves?

Okay. I've got 160K on my original suspension and an OME upgrade is in the works. Last summer, along the Alcan Highway, I had to stop off in Prince George, B.C. and make an emergency upgrade to get the cargo off the rear – what do you call those things – jounce bumpers? The little pyramid shaped thingies that your rear end rides on if you've been a very bad boy and overloaded your truck. Anyway, the boys in Prince George saved my rear end – literally. (My word! What a product!).

Now I'm thinking I'll wait on upgrading my rear leaf springs until I've got a bit more scratch. The front springs and all four shocks won't wait: I'm replacing those. But because I've got RideRite airbags in the back, exactly how pressing is a rear leaf upgrade?

And, while we're at it, which leaves would you consider and why? Dakars? Alcans? Wheeler 5-leaf pack?

 

I installed Ride Rites on my '05 DC instead of upgrading the springs... it is one or the other. The air springs (bags) are adjustable... the stiffer leafs or AAL additional springs are not. If you want a more truck like ride all the time or you have cargo in the bed all the time, do the AAL or TSB. If you only need the firmer suspension on occaision, the Ride Rites work great.

I think your talking about the bumpstops. i would just get a new leaf pack.
