Help first time taco owner!

    09 Prerunner dbl cab 4x2
    I am sure this has been covered before but...
    I have a 2009 prerunner 2wd. (my first taco) I want put a 3" lift on it. My questions are
    1) what is the best lift kit w/o breaking the bank ( i want to di it myself)
    2) will 275's look ok with 3" lift or would 285's be better
    are there any special considerations as far as any other parts I will need like shocks/struts.
    This is my first go at anything like this so any help would be appreciated
