I installed billies on my truck about 6 months ago. On the rear there is a rubber bushing that goes on top. I tightend the nut down far enough to smush the bushing almost flat. it went easily, i wasn't cranking on it. now it looks like it's starting to dry rot or crack a little. was i suppose to? or leave it un smooshed?

    What did you guys do?

    Do you need pics?

i think you're only suppoded to tighten to 15 ft.lbs. And no, i don't think you were supposed to smush it.

From the service manual it says 26 ft-lbs.
I think your best 'visual' test would be for a stock setup to post a pic for you.
